Leaving Comfort Behind
Before and after our internal office training, the trainer always asks, 'Who is willing to leave their comfort zone?' and all of us echo 'I, I, I' and laugh about it. But as time goes on, I realise that a comfort zone is real, and it is meant for people who are not target-minded.People who are afraid to make bold moves and challenge the status quo cannot leave their comfort zone.
Sometime ago, I had the opportunity to run a side hustle for a firm on weekends. Then, I needed funds to support my master's programme. The implication is that after doing 8 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday, on weekends, I will engage in the online job for six hours starting from 8 am and ending by 2 pm.
Making that decision was difficult, but I was glad I left my comfort behind and accepted the offer. This is because it opened me to other channels of favour from the company and other online workers who always call me to ask if I am open to opportunities. I also got more money in my pocket. Again, I am still enjoying the exposure and connections that the role gave me.

However, because of fear of the unknown, people tend to hold on to the little they have without trying out new things. I once advised an individual who was complaining about his low salary to upgrade his skills and start applying for new jobs. But he informed me that he is afraid of leaving his present firm because he is not sure what his choice of a new firm would look like compared to his present firm, where his salaries are paid on time, yet he needs a salary raise. The fear of leaving his comfort zone made him remain with the company until now.
In conclusion, leaving my comfort behind means finding peace in a refined way. It also signifies a willingness to thrive and stay alive. It shows growth and maturity, the ability to make bold decisions. It pushes us to open our minds and trust the future while leaving the past and present behind. It embeds in us the power to change our story.

Honestly, some people still remained where they are for years because of fear of the unknown. Growth comes when we take the bull by the horns.

I think everyone has the desire to overcome their fears and do something new, even with all the fear attached. That happened to me when I wanted to start my academic advising business. It was the best decision I ever made.
I agree with you. But the issue is that some do not follow up with a push to overcome their fears.
While some give up after trying few times.
But the tough will persist and consistently push until they overcome that fear of the unknown.
This is what I believe where leaving the comfort zone comes up 💯💫
