IF I Could Turn The Hands Of Time (#277

If you could travel through time, would you go to the future or the past?

Humm, what a big and critical question from @sacra97. Travelling through time can be good and sometimes bad. It may also be a great adventure for some of us who have some things they want to correct in life. While travelling to the future might mean running faster than my shadows. I am interested in travelling through time, especially to the past.

My Late Mum

The death of my mum was a disastrous loss that always made me desire to travel to the past to adjust whatever must have caused it, and probably made her live longer. I was so emotionally down when someone shared the picture she took with her two friends with me yesterday.

Looking at the picture, I saw frowns and a woman who wasn’t too happy. My mum is an industrious woman who doesn’t like delays. She worries about any single delay in anything she is doing. She also complains about how her daughters weren’t getting married quickly. Each time, we encourage her to calm down, promising her that everything will be fine.

Conversely, my dad is the patient type, does not worry or bother his daughters. He also does not compare them with anybody. He believes and trusts that things will fall into place at the appropriate time.

Fast forward to live events, we lost her to the cold hands of death in the late 90’s at her prime age, while my dad passed on in his late 70’s. By then, all my sisters had settled down. He was well taken care of. He never lacked any good thing. These were some of the things my mum missed that still bother me whenever I look at her pictures.

However, each time I look through the years, I do wish I could travel back to the 90’s and bring back my mum. Stay with her and take her around as much as I can. Yesterday was the height of it all when one of my cousins shared her picture with his late mum and another friend. I couldn’t bear the emotion. It tore me and kept me sober for some time. I quickly shared the pictures with my sisters, who returned with some emojis showing the same sober mood.

Since I do not have the power to do that yet, I keep dreaming, hoping, and trusting that she is at peace until that bright morning where we shall meet to part no more.
