Goal Setting In Year 2026: Looking Before I Leap

Goals - What are 2 goals you want to achieve in 2026, and how do you plan to achieve them?

As the year 2025 has wound down successfully, 2026 kicked in and is running smoothly. Firstly, I want to show gratitude to God for his awesomeness in my life and family. Not forgetting the Hive blockchain family that kept me engaged during the holidays.

The year 2025 has gone down in history, while the year 2026 is underway with many expectations, planning, goals, and objectives. As the past year gradually wound down, I took some time to have a personal retreat where I had a deep reflection on the year in retrospect, noting the goals I set, the ones achieved, and the ones unmet. Reasons for not meeting those goals and the way forward.

There were challenges, obstacles, and frustrations; on the other hand, there were wins, victories, and lessons learnt to build my 2026 goals and correct errors that were obvious and push for a better launch out this year 2026.
Having said that, I have a few goals mapped out for my year 2026, out of which I would like to deliberate on two of them.

First, is setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound) goals. This includes expanding my streams of income this year. This is because in my country of origin, we have a new tax law/reform which will take effect this January 2026, while some are envisaging that it might unlock good things for SME’s that do not make a yearly turnover of two hundred million. Some are saying that it will affect high-income earners. So, I want to position myself to leverage the opportunities it would throw up and tap into such opportunities.

Secondly, I want to do better than I did in 2025 on the Hive blockchain. Learn, unlearn, build relationships, and improve myself here. Staking a minimum of 30 to 50 Hive every month of this year. Though being a full-time employee still affects that decision, I’m not giving up or losing focus on what I want to achieve this year. This is not without eating well, sleeping well, taking charge of my happiness, and maintaining a work-life balance that is sound, physically and mentally rewarding.
