Does Anyone have Good Info on the HIVE Interest Rate? Includes an ALIVE burn

Does anyone have good information on curation reward percent? The HIVE FAQ has the poorly written paragraph that reads:

Starting with the network's 16th hard fork in December 2016, Hive began creating new tokens at a yearly inflation rate of 9.5%. The inflation rate decreases at a rate of 0.01% every 250,000 blocks, or about 0.5% per year. The inflation will continue decreasing at this pace until the overall inflation rate reaches 0.95%. This will take about 20.5 years from the time hard fork 16 went into effect.

The paragraph is confusing because it mentions interest rates but does not tell us how the interest compounds.

The actual interest rate is extremely confusing as the rewards get distributed among authors, curators and witnesses.

The interest rate is even more confusing when one tries to figure out how the absurdly high interest on HBD figures into HIVE interest rates.

Since the equations are confusing, the only way to figure it out is to look at the data. I don't have the time to do this. So, I was hoping that someone else would do it.

If my understanding is correct, the decrease in the interest rate should be increasing at the moment.

Will there be a point when curation rewards are no longer worth the effort of curation?

The Buy N Burn Account

As I understand, the hope was that people would start using HIVE as a general currency as the curation reward percent decreases.

HIVE Engine is the only place that uses HIVE as a currency.

The @buynburn account transfers its HIVE and HBD rewards to HIVE Engine. I use the funds to buy and burn distressed HE tokens.

I like to buy tokens when they are down and burn them when they are popping. I bought 392 ALIVE a few months ago. The price popped and is now trading between 0.0112 and 0.0242 HIVE. There are 2,835,459 ALIVE in circulation which trade at $0.00589 for a marcap of $16,700 .
