The Cancer That Kills Men Faster Than Their Ego
It is very funny how men act powerful especially when it comes to their health, and the majority of this reaction comes from being uncomfortable about the topic. For example, the topic of prostate keeps men on their toes but they do not want to get themselves checked.
As a black man, over 40 years there is a high chance of prostate and it is not about forbidding what isn't because for instance, among men in Nigeria, prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men with about 33% suffering from prostate cancer with over 18,000 men diagnosed yearly. Since cancer cases are detected too late, prostate cancer is the leading cause of death in men.
The prostate is a small gland below the bladder, wrapped around the tube that carries both semen and urine out of the body. It is responsible for producing the fluid that nourishes the sperm and serves as a mode of transportation for it.
Aside from cancer, the prostate in men can get enlarged in what is known as Benign prostatic hyperplasia. The prostate can become inflamed in what is known as prostatitis and sometimes this could be caused by infection but when the cell just starts to multiply and spread to other parts of the body, then it is known as prostate cancer.
Signs of prostate cancer include trouble urinating, weak urine flow, frequent urination at night when it is not diabetes, and blood in the urine or ejaculation. People who are at risk are men with a family history, and are above the age of 40 but can be identified by regular checks.

One way to identify prostate cancer in men quickly is through screening such as the PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test is a good screening test to catch the cancer early. Another screening method is digital rectal examination where the prostate is checked from the anus.
When noticed early, prostate cancer can be cured and if you have a family member who suffered prostate cancer, it is good that you begin to check for it earlier than the person was diagnosed, if possible at age 35.
There are a few factors that can lead to prostate cancer and they include smoking and obesity. Now there is research that shows that men who ejaculate more often up to 21 times or more in a month have a low risk of developing prostate cancer, but it doesn't mean that ejaculation up to that amount gives one a get-out-of-jail-free card. Other factors like lifestyle, exposure to carcinogens, obesity and so on.
Remember that cancer can be cured if found early.
