What If the Tables Were Turned?
My motto in life: Treat others the way you want to be treated. If I don’t like it done to me, I won’t do it to anyone. That is why I can’t hurt others on purpose.

I apply this rule in my love life, in my work relationships with my boss, and with my friends. Before I take any action, I pause and imagine how I would feel if the same action were taken against me.
I also use this rule to advise others when I see them doing the wrong thing or being selfish.
For example, there was a TikTok post in which a son said his mother advised him never to marry a single mother. Yet the same mother wanted her daughter, who is a single mom, to get married.
The question is: if you don’t want your son to marry a single mother, do you have the right to wish that someone else’s son marry your daughter, who is a single mom?
This is typical human behavior, selfishness, and only caring about ourselves.
That is why we curse bike riders when we are in a car for their careless driving, and curse drivers in vehicles when we are on a bike for their reckless driving. We only think about ourselves, never considering that we could be in the wrong.
There have been certain stages in my life where I have applied this motto.
Relationships: I don’t cheat in relationships because I wouldn’t like it if my partner cheated on me.

Cheating is a personal decision; loving someone doesn’t automatically stop you from doing it.
I have seen married people who truly love and value their spouses, yet still cheat on them. The same goes for married women.
Work: When it comes to my relationship with my bosses, I always give my best because anything worth doing is worth doing well. I never engage in anything shady because it goes against my motto.
I never engage in anything shady because it goes against my motto.
Lastly, when it comes to friends and others, I always weigh things carefully before acting.
A good example is this Hive platform. I have access to some people’s keys, including their active keys, but I would never do anything on their accounts without asking them first because I wouldn’t want the same done to me.
This habit of mine has earned me the trust of many people. They believe their keys are in the right hands for safekeeping and won’t be used for anything that could threaten their accounts or involve theft.
Another area where this rule applies is when we are living with someone. Don’t start acting like a glutton and refusing to help in any way. Just imagine if the tables were turned and you were the one hosting a friend, would you be happy if they stayed at your place but refused to contribute to anything?
