The need for speed in Back to basics ruleset

Hello splinter nerds

The survival format is now flooded and the reward is not as yummy as when it started, this is normal because people using it were not as many as now, things are balanced now and I think the modern format is more profitable than the survival.

The only difference is that modern consume energy, so once you are out of energy, you won't be able to play anymore unlike survival it doesn't need energy but has its disadvantages too which are cards being on cool down.

There are a lot of rules on splinterlands and each rule has its own strategy, today I will be writing about the Back to Basic ruleset.

The Back to Basics is a ruleset in which monsters lose all their ability but it does not affect the stats of the Summoner so the first thing to make sure you pick the right summoner that will favor you in the battle.

I battled with Beffeater and we were given two rules. The first was Back to Basic, and the second rule was Target practice, indicating that all magic and range monsters attack the first non-melee monster after the one in the first position.

The opponent and I used the death splinter but a different summoner, I used Lorkus with the +1 magic stats while he used Astral Entity which takes -2 armor away from my team and also gives all the opponent team dodge ability which makes it difficult to hit them.

All the monsters have no abilities so it is necessary to come up with monsters with high speed, attacking first gives a higher chance of winning!

The monster with the highest health was Continuum Seer with 8-speed! the monster that tried to meet up with it was Kha'zi Conjurer with 6-range power.

Due to the ruleset, my second monster must have high health because it will be the main target of the opponent's monsters, so I put Dark Arborist with 8 health.

I used Wily Coyotian in the front position because of its armor, the only threat to him was the opponent's tank, so it was a game of who eliminated the other first and I was lucky to eliminate his tank the armor helped, Kha'zi Conjurer was my third monster and I used it because of its speed and high range power, one attack from it brings death to the opponent monster it hit.

The Continuum seer and life sapper were my winning tickets in this battle and the reason is that I gave them the life leech ability gotten from Lorkus summoner, so the more monsters they hit, the more their health increases making it difficult to eliminate them but it did not get to the point where they need to take some hit for the team because the opponent team was wiped off faster.

To be honest, I hate the back to basic Ruleset, and the reason is because your cards won't have the abilities you're relying on. However it makes it easier for cards like KHAZI not to have that weird burn that takes out the health of your cards. Also, I think the summoner you used gave your cards the ability you need to win this one lol. Sweet win honestly
