It has gotten to the extent that if you do not have money, they see you as someone who does not deserve to be in a relationship, which makes me wonder when a relationship turns into a poverty alleviation scheme.

Two people in a relationship are poor, but one thinks she is doing the other a favour by staying with him. The funniest part is how they don't think they are poor and think they are only with the wrong guy.

Many things have been normalized now which is not supposed to be. A guy asks a lady out on a date, and the next thing is the lady asking him to send money for plaiting her hair and buying a new dress for the date, like what the heck! What happened to the clothes she already has? And it is just a date to get to know each other; it is nothing serious yet, so why the demand for such things?

Some even ask for a transportation fee; these are basic things a lady should be able to afford. Some have it, but they just think it is the guy's responsibility to foot all the bills.

Tips and Advice for guys in or want to be in a relationship

• Do not send her Tfare for the first time if she demands it: If she can comfortably ask you for transport for the first time she wants to visit you or on your first date, imagine how much comfortable she would be when you start dating. You don't want to be in a relationship with someone who can't afford Tfare or doesn't see you as someone worthy enough for her to visit without you sponsoring it. That is a red flag.

• Do not entertain her friends or family if she bring them over during first date: Few ladies are fond of bringing their friends, bro or sis with them when on a date with someone interested in them, they claim to be more safe when those people are around but in the end, you end up spending more than what you budgetted because the security has mouth and hand to eat. If she doesn't trust you enough, there are other ways around it by choosing an open place for the date or informing their family where they are going, and also let one of them speak to you so you can know they know her whereabout but most time, it is not about their safety, they just want to drain you. If a lady is interested in you, trust me, she won't want any distractions to come in between your conversations and time together.

• Don't let any girl feel entitled to your money: Many guys are emotionally and financially drained because they are trying to satisfy someone who ends up not appreciating them or leave at the first sign of hardship, someone who has never earned 100k will be demanding for a phone worth 600k from you and if you do not buy it, she will start getting mad at you or stop giving you attention and your brain didn't tell you to bounce and not entertain the rubbish.

I am not saying do not spend on your girl, but spend on the right girl, not on someone who stays with you for the benefits alone.

Be with someone who doesn't think it is weird for her to surprise you with a gift sometimes.

Be with someone who doesn't think all bills should be on you.
