Our Passion will lead us to greatness

When we love the work we do, every work day becomes a funday.

I am currently doing a job that I have a passion for, so I do not see it as work; I see every day as a fun day, and that is the reason why I have never felt reluctant to work because it is a job I love.

It is one of my wishes while I was growing up, and never did I even think it would be possible, but while some of us are dreaming, we have people working hard to create our dreams. Before I found this job, there was another profession I had a passion for.

One profession I love is teaching... Immediately after I finished secondary school, it was my second job, and I did it for 8 years before I said Enough is enough.

Teaching is a profession with honor, the parents and children will respect you, and you will also be proud of yourself when you see the impact of your teachings on those students... As much as I love the profession, the pay is not worth it.

There is a saying that Teachers' reward is in heaven and this is not far from the truth because for the 8 years I spent teaching, I can't boast of any monetary achievement, I was living from hand to mouth and it was that way until I quit...

If I keep doing it and serve them for years, there will be a time my body won't be able to do work anymore, and once I am no longer useful, I will be disposed of without any form of reward like a pension to save me in old age...

It is true that our passion will lead us to greatness but we must ensure we are in the right profession. I can't say because I love teaching, I should forget about other things and continue collecting the meagre pay...

Sometimes we just need to be logical regarding things like this. If my passion can't sort my bills and also have enough to save, then maybe I need to change my work or find another passion.

In the world that we are now, money is one of the most important things we need... Having it solves a lot of problems, like just knowing you have money is a source of Vitamin B12 because rich people have confidence and peace of mind, and it is only a few problems that money can't solve, especially if you are the careful type that doesn't risk their health or life.

If I find myself in a position where I have to choose between doing my dream job and receiving 500k Naira as salary or just doing any kind of Job that I do not like, but I will be paid 2m Naira monthly, sorry to disappoint you but I will choose the latter cos Like I said passion won't pay my bills and nowadays it is more about the money than passion, at some point you will find passion in a job that pays you well but getting low pay in a job you have passion for will make you lose interest in the job.

Many people are doing work they do not like because of money, but if we are to leave money out of it, you will be surprised at the profession and vocation many people will go for... It is no brainer that we are in a world of survival of the fittest, and we must sacrifice some things, but we have people who are so lucky that they were able to attain greater heights by following their passion.
