Our username is our identity. Most of the time, we get attached to it that we don't want to use any other name when creating an account in another social media app or blog.

How time flies! It feels like yesterday when I created the username burlarj but it has been more than a decade, 2012 precisely.
I just got a new Nokia Asha phone that year, and I heard about the trending app 2go and how most people are creating their accounts, so I bought an Etisalat card of 200 Naira and was given 15mb for free, crazy how 15mb is nothing now, back then 15mb lasted me for a week! I used the data to download the app, and when I tried creating a username for myself, my name was already taken, which did not come as a surprise because we have thousands of people bearing my name.
The app suggested some usernames which still relate to my name by adding more letters and numbers, but I am not a fan of having many numbers at the end of my name, so I took time to customize my name, and I ended up getting burlarj, which I love.

Since then I have been using the name on all my social media, TikTok, Twitter, Telegram, and many others, and surprisingly, no one else is using it, which shows how unique my name is, and I am happy that no one is dragging it with me.
I joined the Hive blockchain in the year 2017, and when I tried creating my Hive account, I didn't run into any problem because, as usual, my username was not taken.
When I had an issue with the Hive Watcher with my account cos of the people I onboarded, I felt so sad because of my identity that will be lost forever on the hive blockchain, I hate to think about it which is the reason why I fight for the account when others were telling me to create a new account, it is not just about hive account, it is about the username which I am already so much attached to and I am glad things worked out fine and the issue was sorted.
No one knows me as burlarj offline, the username is only known to people online so we can say it is my online identity... My nickname offline is Bj.

Your username name is so unique, when I first saw it I tried figuring out what would be your real name but I can't even till now 😂

lol, yea right . I think it is the same with everyone having a username or nick cos at some point, people forget their real name or don't even know what they call them isn't their real name .
