Muspelheim Demon: The Hidden Gem Most Players Overlook

Hello Splinter nerds

There are some cards that players barely use but are good in battles, especially when used in the right ruleset.

One of these cards is Muspelheim Demon. I barely see this monster in battles, I rarely use it, but I often win most of the time I use it.

It has 3 amazing abilities. The first is the scattershot which makes its hit unpredictable; you never know the opponent monster it is going to attack as it just hit any randomly, the second ability is Aim True, there is this confidence that comes with knowing your monsters won't hit their target, such is the confidence that this monster gives because it never misses its target no matter the evading stat or abilities they possess, the third ability is oppress which does double damage to non attack monsters.

One of the moments I love using this card is when I predict the opponent might come with Heloise the Hollow. The combo of Heloise the hollow and Risqruel Drath summoner is deadly, especially when Heloise is given the Aim true ability too. Any monster that hits it suffers the spite damage, which could end up killing them if they don't have enough health to withstand the attack, and this is where Muspelheim Demon is needed. Its scattershot ability has a higher chance of saving him from targetting Heloise as it won't target Heloise like the other monsters in the team.

I had a battle where I showcased the prowess of the demon in battle. We were given 3 rules:

  • Are you not entertained: One additional glatiator can be summoned.

  • Odd ones Out: You can only summon units with odd mana costs

  • Deflection Field: All units have deflect so they can't be affected by thorns, return fire, magic reflect, and corrosive ward.

Even though all the splinters were available except the dragon splinter, the second rule also makes the monster's choice limited, and the best tactic that came to my mind at that moment was using Drath to summon Heloise the Hollow and some other monsters that would serve as a health bank and support for Heloise.

I was expecting the opponent to use Heloise the hollow, which is the reason why I used the demon, but when I didn't see it in his team, I had more confidence that I was going to win the battle.

My formation

Oridum Graybrow was my tank and a good defender. I placed it in the front position because it can withstand as many attacks as possible from the opponent, it also has the Resurgence which gives it the ability to resurrect with full health once, the second monster was Fenmoor platypus used for its rust ability, need to remove the armor on the opponent monsters so my Heloise can defeat them easily without the armors obstructing its spite attacks.

Mahkah Hemlig was my third monster. I used it because of the triage and scavenger ability it possessed, it gains 1 health when any monster died from either team which gives it more chance of staying longer in the arena, the fourth monster was Muspelheim Demon and I used it for its scavenger ability just incase the opponent also used Heloise, atleast it has a higher chance of avoiding the spite attacks.

Baron Fyatt is the fifth monster in my team and it is used for its halving ability, so it can weaken the opponent team by reducing their attack power to half, and lastly but not the least is Heloise the hollow the power house of the team and the one meant to receive all the hit from the opponent team.

In the end, the opponent use his summoner stat wrongly by putting the taunt on my Oridum, I guess that was his way to avoid Heloise but it was a wrong move which cost him more, It was a flawless victory for me.
