I am a peaceful man who tries his best to stay away from troubles or anything that could make me lose my temper because I know how hot-tempered I can be and I am not the kind of person who lets go of a fight that has already started easily so the best I can do is to make sure anything that would lead me to that path never happen.

This is why most time, I cut people off instead of reacting to how they treated me, letting them go is my way of showing them mercy because if I choose to retaliate, it will definitely be brutal than what they did, but what will be my gain after the revenge, it still won't change the fact that I was hurt by them.
I have many cases that warrant me to sue people for their deeds but I just ignore and close their chapter in my life and the reason for most issues is money, I still wonder why people find it so difficult to pay a debt, you have the money but then you feel so reluctant to pay not minding if the person you are owing also need the money.
I will keep repeating this, May we not help people who in their mind think they are using us, this is something very common in life, you will sacrifice for people in the hope that you are helping them but they see you as a dumb that they are using.
In 2016, I was teaching the two daughters of a rich man private lessons, the wife was always the one paying me and we never had issues, 2 days before the beginning of a new month, I would have gotten my salary which was 8 000 naira but after a year it was increased to 10 000 Naira after one of their daughters graduated and now in junior secondary school...
All was well until the man contested for the local government chairman in his area, he spent a lot of money but did not win, I think this actually wrecked him a bit and it affected me too, this is why we should always pray for our destiny helper and boss too because if they go down, it will affect us as well.
My salary which used to get paid early now started getting delayed but I didn't mind because they have been a good employer to me and I am someone who will never pay back good with evil, I am very loyal to those who deserve it, I noticed how things are with them and when the woman tells me I should not be angry that things are difficult at the moment, I told her not to worry too much about it and they can pay me when they have it.

This was how I taught the children for 1 year and two months and only got paid 20,000 Naira, I did not stop because I did not want to quit when they could not afford me anymore since they treated me right when they had it, I guess I was wrong though because during those months I was not getting paid, the man still takes his children to shop right every Sunday, he still fuel his car and probably other things I do not know about, so it could be that my money was not a priority for them.
I stopped being considerate after the money they owed me was up to 100 000 Naira, I told them I was going to quit and if they had my money, they could send it to me, the woman begged me and said she was very sorry that once things are okay, they will definitely send it but till today, they never did!
There was a time I needed money, I texted her and she only said she would get back to me which she never did, I see her husband in his car once in a while, he will greet me but he never mentioned my money so when I realized they were not planning to pay, I just forgot all about it because If I decided to drag it with them, I am definitely going to get paid but somethings will never be the same again after collecting the money with a fight.
100 000 Naira was a huge amount of money to me in 2018 and Imagine letting go of the money that I do not even have just because I want peace to reign, that is how I cut off people from my life not thinking too much about the pain they cause me because I fear my anger and don't want to do something I will regret later...
They deserved to be sued to get my money right? but it never even crossed my mind

yea some people have lost their lives by owing dangerous people money but hopefully, they don't learn at the verge of death that it is a bad habit to borrow and not pay or owe someone for services rendered to you.

I can relate to your situation as I also faced a similar situation but in my case, the amount of money wasn't as huge as yours. I think they didn't give you what you deserved and it was your right. I can remember that one of my juniors faced the same situation but he directly made a case file in the police station and forced the guardian to pay the money which was his right.
You could do it also but it may affect your reputation also because our society sees everything from the opposite perspective.
I already let go, it was 6 years ago and that amount is something I can dash a family now, so all is good.

Eventually people can be like that. Imagine working for one year and getting no wages, they could have considered your sacrifices even though they treated you right. I've been owed like that as well, sometimes people don't simply care.

this type of case is very common, there are people who are only looking to take advantage of you. For this reason being kind has its negative side people just want to squeeze you without thinking that you also need that money from work to solve your own life. What will be will always be. That is life. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try to dodge these kind of people you mentioned, we will still find ourselves in that trap. People are fond of taking advantage of you when you are trying to be nice to them. But once you are able to notice that, they start putting up different excuses. Just as you said, the money was much for you that year, but thanks to God for today. It means you have won over them. But it's unfair to do such to you knowing how committed you were with the job. The day I knew a friend was using me, I stopped instantly and never allowed it repeat itself again.
