Everyone's destiny is different
One of the reasons why some people are not in the position they deserve to be in is because they didn't follow their own path, they are walking on the wrong path which is not the one destined for them.
One thing I like about myself is that I do not follow others blindly, if you tell me to join you in doing something, I would first think and analyze if it is my thing before I venture into it, if not I would wish you well.
The word NO is a big word for some people; it is so heavy in their mouths that when others bring opinions and suggestions, they will take it even when they know it might not favor them.
I have had many experiences but thankfully I know the right and wrong path and I refuse to follow friends or others to do what I see no future doing and I would love to share one or some of those experiences with my readers.
During my teenage, I was a skillful player when it comes to playing football, I joined a local team in my area along with my friends and we were doing great but then I was just playing for fun and had no intention of pursuing it as a career, not until my close friend discussed the matter with me but I was not moved at all because I know our chances of getting selected to fly out and start playing for an international team is 1 percent.
I gave him my reasons and why I think our chances of becoming an international footballer was so low but I didn't try to discourage him, it may be his way and he may be lucky, so I started working after I graduated from secondary school while he keeps on playing football and playing matches all around, 5 years later, he gave up on it too, I guess he finally understands my point but he misses out on some things within that 5 years, he could have gain more experience if he had spent that 5 years to do something more productive.
Some people would say I give up on things easily, they are right! I don't waste time on unproductive things, I do my calculations and weigh the risk and success of something before doing it, if the chance of winning is too small, I give up on it at the very beginning but if The chance of winning is high, I go into it 100 percent without a wavering mind and quitting is not an option till the end!
There is another story, a friend of mine said he was going to leave the work we were doing because the boss wasn't treating us well, he was going start doing another job which he was good at and he wanted me to quit my work and join him.
I had to tell him to give me time to think about it and my conclusion was it would be a bad move if I listened to him.
He is a guru in the other work he just started and I am a novice which means I would have a hard time learning the new work, secondly is that apart from the boss being mean sometimes, I was very good at the work and earning well so I have no tangible reasons to leave except I want to blindly follow my colleague, so once again, I wished him well and I was glad I didn't leave quit my job.
The mistake we sometimes make is blindly following others and leaving our own path to success, because Mr.A is doing so well selling motor parts, you decided to quit farming to join him and be selling motor spares too unknowingly you are destined to be successful in the farming business and you are just a few months away from hitting jackpot by digging out diamonds on the farmland but you quit when you are so close to success because of Mr.A.
What works for MR. A might not work for Mr.B, so true to your path and do not waver or let the success story of others change your mind, there is time for everyone to be successful!

I knew this a long time ago. I always strived to find my path and not follow others. I believe everyone has a part in this life, therefore, we should stick to our paths and not follow others

It is a very practical, excellent and very intelligent philosophy of life. Plus it says a lot about the degree of confidence and self-esteem we have developed.

I don't think it's right because it's not giving up, It's called foresight. And for that reason, your friend lost his efforts for 5 years and you decided to stay far from it and you were right.
I have seen many people follow others blindly to dream of success. I think it's not bad to understand and take suggestions from those who were successful but it's not necessary it's the suitable path for us because everyone is unique and we should make our own path to achieve success.

One thing I know is that life is not balanced. Well, once we find out that something is not productive, we need to back off but there are times when we don't back off and it later becomes productive

it depends on what we are not backing off on, most time we should let our instinct tells us what to do
Boss that was a powerful message up there. We all need to know where we belong and stop following the crowd. Most people are not thriving today because they are doing the wrong things. We are not the same, and we, all can't be successful at one thing. The fact that it is working for someone doesn't mean it will work for you, don't waste your time chasing the wrong things. The way out now left for us to find our place and build ourselves there

You so on point and you know the logic. We all have our different path and dreams to fulfill, before we follow someone elses root, it is important to think twice about it so we don't end up loosing something valuable on our own path
loosing on both sides lol, because we abandon our own rubi to search for a diamond meant for someone else.
In the same way, the purpose of life must be there. When there is a purpose in life, then a person works hard and then when a person works hard from the heart and continues to do it for a long time, then a person gets success.
