Beginners tips for newbies interested in Spinterlands

Splinterlands is the most successful play2earn game on the hive blockchain and the gameplay started way back in 2018.

As a newbie about to start his journey on Splinterlands, There are some things you need to know for a better understanding of the game.

Let us talk about the Game Tokens

Splintershards: Sps is the governance token for the game Splinterlands and there are many ways to earn it.

• Battles: You earn sps for every rank battle you win and it can also be earned from the focus and season chest that players get.

• Staking reward: You can also earn more sps by staking the ones you have, there is a 13% Apr for staked sps at the moment.

• Brawl: Partaking in a brawl fight hosted for the Guilds is another way to earn more sps as all players that participated in a particular guild get sps at the end of the brawl.

• Tournaments: This is the best place to earn some decent sps but you are going to need a strong deck as there are a lot of top players with strong accounts participating to win the big sps prize.

There are other ways to earn more sps like the liquidity pool but I won't be talking about that because I do not know much about it.

Aside Sps, there are other tokens of Splinterlands you need to know.

Dec : This is another Splinterlands reward token that they give as a prize to top players on the leaderboard every season end.

Merits: A token reward that is distributed to players who partake in a brawl.

Vouchers:: This is often used during promo sales and it can be earned from staking sps.

I hope I did not miss out on any token but it is time to forge ahead and talk about the gameplay which is what most newbies are interested in.

To start playing and earning on Splinterlands, you need to buy the spellbook which costs 10 dollars to activate your earnings.

The second step I always recommend to those who come to me for an explanation about how the gameplay works is to direct them to check how to play on the Splinterland page.

All the basic things you need to learn are there ranging from the two types of cards to different types of splinters/elements. the card basics range from their mana cost, mode of attack, speed, armor, and Health base

The best tip you can get is to check on how to play and then find someone to explain to you some terms you do not understand and also strategies on how to make your battle formation.

There are three modes of attack which are the melee, magic, and range.

The melee monsters are designed to attack from the first position unless they have special abilities like the sneak which allows them attack from the rear positions, magic attacks can attack from any position but they are often used as a rear cards while the range monsters should be place in the last position because they can't attack from the first position, all these are what you need to know as a newbie in order to be able to win.

When I joined Splinterlands in 2018, I had difficulties understanding the gameplay and I even quit about 2 times before I eventually became devoted to it with each loss, I learned more battle strategy from the players that defeated me.

So also try to imitate the lineup your opponent used in defeating you that way you will be learning from the skillful ones and at the end, use their formation to beat them too.
