Africa on WorldMappin 01 — Exploring Ewet Housing and Visiting their Fast food Crunches Plus Concept, Uyo.

Wagwan guys, it's @bullishboss in one of the ancient of days eatery in Nigeria. Take yourself decades back and ask for Crunches. It's a long-standing eatery in Uyo and has stood the taste of time. This is where I visited this December, but not in Crunches because they relocated and rebranded to Crunches Plus.
Location |
|---|
Crunches Plus is located at the heart of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. To be precise, the exact location is by General Edet Akpan Traffic light, fondly called 4 lanes. This traffic light is where the eatery is located. So it's located in quite a busy place, a place that makes eyes and visibility 100% because it is by the traffic light most vehicles wait and the drivers tend to perceive the sweet aroma from the eatery. So the location is perfect. The only disadvantage is when going out of the eatery. You may have to wait for a series of cars to pass before you get a clear pass.

So it was after I came back from work I decided to visit this place to have a time away from stress and the likes. Their AC was damn cool. It blew the hell out of me. I was freezing even under a pant and long sleeve shirt. Nevertheless, I got used to it subsequently. I went there to purchase shawarma. It's not my regular shawarma plus but I had to satisfy my cravings. It's been years since I ate this. Entering the eatery from the exterior, people were asking why I'm taking pictures of the place. I told them I'm a content creator and I want to promote their place.
Crunches made its place as beautiful as they could imagine for the Christmas celebration. They placed Christmas lights all around the place with some enticing decorations. It's been a long time since I visited this place, though nothing serious has changed.

I walked in with elegance on my white shirt and grey trouser. Most times I wonder why there's always a gate keeper by the door of most eateries. That's stressful work to be opening and closing. You're just stagnated to one place. Regardless, who wouldn't do that for the pay. Ohkay, I decided to visit the shawarma stand first to place my order before going inside to make payments.
I've been hearing that shawarma is #3500, #4000, #4500 in naira but was shocked to see that shawarma is just #3200 here. I couldn't believe my eyes. I asked if this was an old price. I confirmed that it wasn't. I placed an order. Normally, I didn't just want to make any purchase but was moved to.
Shawarma Outlet |
|---|
This shawarma outlet is quite different from the main Eatery though they share the same boundary. This shawarma outlet has three seats in front of a counter where customers sit to make orders. The interior and exterior is clean and attractive. There's a show glass in front of the counter which prevents customers from having full access to the sellers. There's a small hole carved from this show glass which they use for delivery.

The Eatery's interior |
|---|
The interior of Crunches has always been stunning, clean and attractive. The show glass of food is catchy enough for you to make orders. I walked in as if I wanted to make purchases of some things there. I started by asking about the prices of their food. Turkey is #7000 naira.

Jeezzzzzzzz, I screamed in my mind. Since when did Turkey become #7000 naira. So someone would remove #7k and buy meat that would finish under an hour. Not me. I then asked for the price of their meat pie. I was shocked too. #1200. I asked again to confirm. How exorbitant could this be because in other places it's 900 or a thousand naira? Anyways, people have different ways of running their businesses.
Everything there was mouthwatering and the prices were worth the looks of food I saw there. They sell fried rice, Jollof rice, moi-moi, roasted and fried chicken, goat meat with sauce, basmati rice, yam and egg sauce and some African continental dishes, including soups. I will visit them someday to purchase their moi-moi as no eatery gives me the taste of moi-moi I want. They'll probably make that difference.

To their cake section which reminded me of when I bought a sizeable cake for #100 naira. I was then but the price range hasn't really changed. Crunches will always be that Eatery that gives the best at affordable rates. The prices of their cakes are affordable for birthday parties compared to other places I've made enquiries on. They also make cake based on orders. They deliver small chops as well. They have a delivery man who does home delivery after orders has been made online.

After that, I sat down to wait for a friend so I could give her what she forgot in my hand. When she came, she told me she usually worked here before she resigned due to distance and the likes. I had a good time with her [conversation]. Sitting on their chair was like sitting on a bed. It was damn comfortable and soft compared to some hard surfaces in other eateries. The lighting was perfect and it gave me that offline presence to take pictures there.

After the conversation, I left with my ticket for the shawarma after making payments online. This is the screenshot of my payment for the shawarma. I took the ticket to the person making shawarma. He gave me my package. This is what I had for dinner tonight.

If I'm to recommend this place, it's for the quality of service, affordability of prices, and good tastes. I boarded a vehicle home and enjoyed my purchase. The shawarma tastes different and professionally made.

And it’s great that you told them you’re a content creator! That probably made them appreciate your effort even more. The Christmas decorations also add a nice touch perfect timing for the season.
Yeah, this place is always the first when it comes to decorations like this. They don't slag at all. Thanks for commenting on my post. I appreciate
But honestly, the food lineup sounds amazing fried rice, jollof, moi-moi, goat meat sauce, yam and egg sauce that’s a whole feast right there. If their moi-moi meets your standards, then the trip back might just be worth it someday!
Exactly. That's the point I'm driving at. It would make a whole lot of sense of it tastes better. What kind of foods are sold on your country's eatery?
