Spring Is Here

I usually prefer winter, but this one was lame. We had hardly any snow to show for it, so it was just cold, windy, and gloomy. Many of us are over it and looking forward to warmer weather.

The downside to spring being here is that the weather is now nice enough that I can't use the frigid cold as an excuse to avoid yardwork. That means cleaning up dog poop, pulling weeds, etc.

This was one project I wasn't looking forward to tackling.

A tree had somehow managed to grow behind the fence. It was hanging over the irrigation ditch, dropping garbage into the neighbors' yards, and was an eyesore.

I got permission from everyone to hack it down, so yesterday afternoon, it came down piece by piece.

Fortunately, my dad let me borrow his electric pole saw, so it only took me a couple of hours to chop it down, haul the pieces out, and then cut those into smaller pieces. At least the one bonus from it is I have some more wood I can add to the fire pit pile.

Hopefully, I don't have to deal with this again for a nice, long time. I'm also hoping it's the last major project I have to deal with, outside of the inevitable weed pulling. Here's to hoping! 🤞
