Out with The New, in with The Old?
Every other year I like to buy a fun silver Christmas round and put it in one of those specialized ornament air tites. They're a neat invention that lets you turn pretty much anything into an ornament. The idea is when my kids are older, I can gift these to them. They'll not only have unique ornaments for their own tree, but wealth that will last.
The price of silver is now over $50/oz, I may have to do something different this year. It doesn't make any sense to pay over $50/oz for a Christmas ornament, even if it is silver.

I usually see vintage Sterling silver Christmas ornaments on Ebay pretty regularly when looking for lots of scrap silver. They aren't a full ounce of silver, so I usually passed on them since most people want anywhere from $25 or more. They normally retail for $200 or more, so Ebay is going to be my friend here.

I'm more inclined to spend $30 than $50 or $200. Sure, it's not pure silver but it's still 92.5% silver, and it's still a great decoration that will last over time.
I'll have to see if maybe I can find some deals and snipe a cheap one last-minute. The hunt is on!

Those sterling silver ones are pretty cool. I bought a couple more silver pieces yesterday. I probably should have held off since the price was so high, but I needed to get them ordered for Christmas. Oh well.
Yeah, hopefully I can find one in good shape at a reasonable price.
It sounds like you did the best you could considering shipping times are getting longer now that Halloween is over.

Yeah, I ended up cancelling the one piece and they are going to ship sooner. Then I had to buy a couple more to replace the one.
