Free Espresso Machine? Why Not?

I occasionally win random Amazon gift cards at work, which is nice to use towards food I'd buy for the kids anyway. This last time around, I got another one, and my wife suggested we buy an espresso machine. At first, I thought she was crazy, but she reminded me that lately, we've been grabbing coffee at least every other weekend, and the cost adds up.

My wife found an espresso machine for $50 on Amazon. A quick rundown of the math and at about $12 every 2 weeks, it would only take 3-4 months of not buying coffee for it to pay for itself. So, I used my gift card and it arrived in about a week. In the meantime, she bought some caramel and vanilla syrups to add to our coffee.

Saturday was the grand unveiling. I filled it up with water, prepped everything, and it was time to try it out!

Yes, that spigot on the right is for steam, so you can froth your milk, cream, etc. It took me a few tries to get it down, but I've improved quite a bit. My wife and I are happy with the results, so we haven't been out for coffee now in a couple of weeks.

Clean-up is pretty easy, so it's nice to be able to make a nice cup of coffee without a lot of work before and after. Less time spent making coffee, and more time spent enjoying it, is the way it should be!
