Boring Silver Buffaloes

I love silver, but we all have a certain piece or design that is a turn-off. What that is simply depends on who's looking at it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so is "ugliness."

In the end, I will take whatever silver is the cheapest per ounce. That still doesn't stop me from writing this post. I'm mainly curious what other people find "ugly" or "boring" when it comes to silver coins and rounds.

For me, it's the buffalo that everyone copies from the American gold buffalo coins. It's not a bad design, but it's very plain. On the obverse, you have the portrait of an Indian and on the back, you have the American buffalo. I have nothing against either. I think the design is simply boring. They're all pretty much the same, with very little variation between them. In Kzoo Bullion's defense, their design (the middle one) contains radial lines and gives the round some texture.

If you contrast that with the incuse gold Indian head design, it's a night and day difference, in my opinion.

The details and design on the gold coin are just far better. I'll still buy silver buffalos because they're cheap, but man, are they boring to look at!
