Que tal amigos de Hive NFTGame Latino y Splinterlands! Finalmente es viernes, comienzo del fin de semana y el momento perfecto para dedicarse a Splinterlands! Todos los sábados tenemos nuestra transmisión en la comunidad de Hive NFTGame Latino dedicada a las novedades del juego y también mini torneo con premios en cartas, pero el sábado pasado tuvimos nuestra transmisión temática donde traemos nuestra cerveza favorita y la compartimos con una foto en el directo. En esta ocasión el tópico de esta tertulia tabernera se trató de la más reciente mini edición de cartas: Escalation!

Every Saturday we have our stream in the Hive NFTGame Latino community dedicated to the latest game news and also a mini-tournament with card prizes, but last Saturday we had our themed stream where we bring our favorite beer and share it with a photo on the live stream. This time, the topic of this pub chat was the most recent mini-set of cards: Escalation!
Para la ocasión compre 2 cervezas y empecé por degustar una Heineken mientras esperaba que llegara miembros de la comunidad y abría el programa. El primero en llegar y que me acompaño con una cerveza también fue mi estimado @morenow! Que me sorprendió con una cerveza de Brasil Opa Bier, la figura que aparece en mi Heineken es Hunk de la saga Resident Evil lo tenía allí porque se estaba estrenando Resident Evil Requiem y es la única figura que conservo de esa saga de survival horror.
For the occasion, I bought two beers and started by enjoying a Heineken while I waited for members of the community to arrive and for the program to begin. The first to arrive, and who also shared a beer with me, was my esteemed @morenow! He surprised me with a Brazilian beer, Opa Bier. The figure on my Heineken is Hunk from the Resident Evil series; I had it there because Resident Evil Requiem was being released, and it's the only figure I still own from that survival horror saga.

Luego se llegaron mi buen amigo @cpol y @freed99 a la transmisión para compartir las novedades de Escalation y finalmente la bella @mirlenyjerez que al igual que yo ya ha comprado packs de Escalation y se acercó para compartirnos sus impresiones de este mini set. Con todos ellos finalmente reunidos, comenzamos el programa brindando por este gran momento en Splinterlands, ya que siempre que sale un nuevo set de cartas, la emoción por abrir un nuevo pack de cartas es muy grande y siempre quieres compartir con amigos los nfts que obtuviste.
Then my good friend @cpol and @freed99 joined the stream to share the latest news about Escalation, and finally, the lovely @mirlenyjerez, who, like me, has already bought Escalation packs, came to share her impressions of this mini-set. With everyone finally gathered, we started the show by toasting to this great moment in Splinterlands, because whenever a new card set comes out, the excitement to open a new pack is huge, and you always want to share the NFTs you got with your friends.
Bien, Escalation es la más reciente mini set de cartas desde la gloriosa Riftwatchers con Chaos Legion, ya que en Rebellion, en lugar de tener un miniset se implementaron una serie de novedades algunas buenas y otras que se han ido mejorando con el tiempo, como el sistema de Carromatos/Conflictos y los lanzamientos de cartas promocionales en el Salón de Leyendas y cartas exclusivas que se compraban con vouchers. Han sido iniciativas interesantes que pueden mejorarse aún más con el tiempo, pero no se comparan con el FOMO que levanta un nuevo miniset de cartas y la mayor prueba de eso es que ya se han vendido más de 300K packs desde el 24 de febrero un verdadero éxito!
Well, Escalation is the most recent mini card set since the glorious Riftwatchers with Chaos Legion, since in Rebellion, instead of having a mini set, a series of new features were implemented, some good and others that have been improved over time, such as the Wagons/Conflicts system and the release of promotional cards in the Hall of Legends and exclusive cards that were bought with vouchers. These were interesting initiatives that can be further improved over time, but they don't compare to the FOMO generated by a new mini-set of cards. The best proof of this is that more than 300,000 packs have already been sold since February 24th—a true success!

Yo compartí el contenido de los 2 packs que compré en preventa, mi carta favorita fue sin duda Ballista Deadshot que tiene un daño mágico de 5 que puede lanzarlo al azar. Pero no es la única carta poderosa, uno de los temas que estuvimos apreciando en esta colección fue lo poderosa que eran estas cartas comunes, que a pesar de tener un requerimiento de mana bastante alto el simple hecho de saber que puedes contar con una carta así que desde el nivel 1 hace un daño terrible, valen la pena tenerlas entonces en tu mazo.
I shared the contents of the two packs I pre-ordered. My favorite card was undoubtedly Ballista Deadshot, which has 5 magic damage that can be cast randomly. But it's not the only powerful card. One of the things we were noticing in this collection was how powerful these common cards were. Despite having a fairly high mana requirement, the simple fact of knowing you can count on a card like this from level 1 that does terrible damage makes them worth having in your deck.
La otra buena noticia es la accesibilidad de estas cartas, tanto las cartas comunes como las raras tienen un excelente precio en el mercado, aprovechamos y compramos al menos 1 copia de estas cartas para ampliar nuestro mazo moderno que hasta ahora solo se ha compuesto de cartas Conclave Arcana Core, Rewards Rebellion/Rewards Conclave Arcana y el set de cartas Foundations. The other good news is the accessibility of these cards. Both common and rare cards are very affordable. We took advantage of this and bought at least one copy of each to expand our modern deck, which so far has only consisted of Conclave Arcana Core, Rewards Rebellion/Rewards Conclave Arcana, and the Foundations set. Epic and legendary cards are still quite expensive, so it's best to wait for their prices to decrease in the coming weeks.
Por ahora la prioridad sería hacerse con estas cartas comunes y raras, obtenerlas en su versión gold foil es una buena opción si quieres tenerlas en nivel 3 o 2 directamente y aprovechar el bono por usarlas en batalla si vas a estar un buen tiempo en la liga de bronce/plata, pero si aspiras a oro o superior y tu presupuesto es limitado, lo ideal sería tener estas cartas en foil regulares, ya que comprar la cantidad de copias GF para niveles por encima de nivel 4 se vuelve excesivo. Con este repaso inicial de las cartas Escalation, terminamos nuestra tertulia y procedimos a retarnos en el minitorneo!
For now, the priority should be acquiring these common and rare cards. Obtaining them in their gold foil version is a good option if you want to have them at level 3 or 2 directly and take advantage of the bonus for using them in battle if you're going to be in the bronze/silver league for a while. However, if you're aiming for gold or higher and your budget is limited, the ideal would be to have these cards in regular foil, since buying the number of GF copies for levels above level 4 becomes excessive. With this initial overview of the Escalation cards, we finished our discussion and proceeded to challenge each other in the mini-tournament!

Por último tuvimos nuestro acostumbrado minitorneo, donde participamos en batallas de modo challenge, con todas las cartas, nivel adepto. las batallas clasificatorias fueron entre freed99 vs cpol y rathma vs mirlenyjerez para finalmente definir los 3 lugares del podio. Pero por supuesto, antes de enfrentar a mirleny abrí mi segunda cerveza, una Corona especial, lamentablemente no tenía whisky escocés para hacer el submarino con la pita de cerveza, pero igual estaba muy refrescante y me ayudó a concentrarme en la batalla que me esperaba.
Finally, we had our usual mini-tournament, where we participated in challenge mode battles with all the cards, at the adept level. The qualifying battles were between freed99 vs. cpol and rathma vs. mirlenyjerez to finally determine the 3 podium places. But of course, before facing Mirleny I opened my second beer, a Corona Special. Unfortunately, I didn't have any Scotch whisky to make the submarine with the beer, but it was still very refreshing and helped me concentrate on the battle that awaited me.

Primero atestiguamos la batalla entre cpol y freed99, una lucha cerrada que terminó definiéndose con unidades rango voladoras ya que el terremoto que aplica 2 de daño a todas las unidades en tierra. Luego tuve la batalla con la experimentada mirlenyjerez, a ella le gustan los retos así que para estar a la altura de sus expectativas, decidí enfrentarla con mi cuenta principal y vaya que fue una batalla cerrada, la diferencia la hizo el legendario y poderoso Ruler of the Seas! First, we witnessed the battle between cpol and freed99, a close fight that ended with flying units taking the lead, since the earthquake dealt 2 damage to all ground units. Then I had a battle with the experienced mirlenyjerez. She likes a challenge, so to live up to her expectations, I decided to face her with my main account, and what a close battle it was! The difference was made by the legendary and powerful Ruler of the Seas! I've included the links to these battles below.

Así pasamos a las batallas finales, el tercer lugar se definió en tre freed99 y mirlenyjerez quien gano esta difícil batalla de bajo mana usando el poderoso arconte de tierra Milor, la pesadilla de la unidades melé junto a Eternal Tofu. Y el primer y segundo lugar entre cpol y rathma, en esta batalla utilicé Harklaw en la última posición para contener el daño del super snake y lo aposté todo usando unidades mágicas potenciado con el arconte Delwyn Dragonscale uno de mis primeros arcontes cuando comencé en Splinterlands, siempre confiable e implacable, otorgándonos así la victoria. Por supuesto brindamos por ese primer lugar!
Then we moved on to the final battles. Third place was decided between freed99 and mirlenyjerez, who won this difficult low-mana battle using the powerful Earth Archon Milor, the nightmare of melee units, along with Eternal Tofu. And the first and second place between Cpol and Rathma! In this battle, I used Harklaw in the last position to contain the damage from Super Snake and went all in using magic units boosted by Archon Delwyn Dragonscale, one of my first archons when I started playing Splinterlands. Always reliable and relentless, he secured the victory for us. Of course, we toasted to that first place!
