Greetings Splinterlands and Hivers community! Welcome to my post for this week's Social Media Challenge. This time I want to continue the tutorial for beginners proposed in last week's weekly challenge. There I made a long and extensive presentation of the importance of belonging to a clan and starting to obtain merits and Gladius cards. In this post we will see the importance of constantly improving the level of these cards to strengthen our strategies in the modern format. Let's get started!

Bienvenidos a mi post del Social media challenge de esta semana, en esta ocasión quiero dar continuación al tutorial para iniciados propuesto en el weekly challenge de la semana pasada, alli hice una exposición larga y extensa de la importancia de pertenecer a un clan y comenzar a obtener méritos y cartas Gladius. En este post veremos la importancia de mejorar constantemente el nivel de estas cartas para fortalecer nuestras estrategias en el formato moderno. Comencemos!
♠️ Upgrading Gladius cards: A priority to advance in Modern/Upgradear cartas Gladius: Una prioridad para avanzar en Moderno
We had commented in the first part of this post about the ability of gladius cards to turn a battle around with their bloodlust ability. While at level 1 a gladius is enough to sow terror in your opponent, taking these cards to higher levels makes them true wild cards on the battlefield. That is why it is important to constantly open gladius packs. Here I present my last 8 packs that I recently opened:
Habíamos comentado en la 1era parte de este post de la capacidad que tienen las cartas gladius para darle la vuelta a una batalla con su habilidad bloodlust. Si bien en nivel 1 una gladius es suficiente para sembrar el terror en tu oponente, llevar estas cartas a niveles superiores las hacer verdaderos comodines en el campo de batalla. Por eso se hace importante abrir constantemente gladius packs. Aqui te presento mis últimos 8 packs que abri recientemente:
Balance
I've been in guilds for 2 years, accumulating and upgrading these cards and I'm already at a point where I'm starting to take my cards to the gold league level. It's an achievement that takes time and dedication but it's worth it, in this case we were lucky enough to get 2 legendary cards that allowed us to take them to level 2. The first is Larissa Kerato, a powerful card with double attack.
Tengo ya 2 años en gremios, acumulando y upgradeando estas carta y ya estoy en un punto en el que estoy empezando a llevar mis cartas a nivel de la liga de oro. Es un logro que demanda tiempo y dedicación pero vale la pena, en este caso tuvimos la suerte de obtener 2 cartas legendarias que nos permitieron llevarlas al nivel 2. La primera es Larissa Kerato una potente carta con doble ataque.
The second featured card is Jini Guise, which learns the Blind ability at level 2, increasing our chances of dodging attacks.
La segunda carta destacada es Jini Guise que aprende la habilidad Blind en el nivel 2 aumentando nuestras probabilidades de esquivar ataques.
Upgrading these cards is not easy, Brawls are every 4-5 days so it takes a lot of work to gather enough cards to take them to higher levels. In my case I was finally able to take these cards to much higher levels.
Upgradear estas cartas no es fácil, las Brawls son cada 4-5 días por lo que cuesta bastante trabajo reunir las cartas suficientes para llevarlas a niveles superiores. En mi caso finalmente pude llevar estas cartas a niveles muy superiores.
1st Battle/1era Batalla

In this first battle the rulesets strip us of any kind of defense, which would favor the use of entirely melee units, however we will use a different tactic: we will rely almost exclusively on Larissa's double strike ability and her ability to increase her stats with bloodlust, while the rest of our lineup will act as decoy.
En esta primera batalla las rulesets nos despojan de cualquier tipo de defensa, lo que favorecería el uso de unidades enteramente melé, sin embargo usaremos una táctica diferente: nos apoyaremos casi exclusivamente de la habilidad double strike de Larissa y su habilidad de aumentar sus estadísticas con bloodlust, mientras que el resto de nuestra alineación actuará como señuelo.
⚔️ Round 1 ⚔️
In the first round our opponent made the mistake of using a unit with the Taunt ability when there is a ruleset that punishes these units by making them take double damage. Once the Wave Brood was dispatched, we managed to weaken Diemonshark enough for Larissa to deliver the finishing blow and activate her bloodlust.
En el primer round nuestro oponente cometió el error de usar una unidad con la habilidad Taunt cuando hay una ruleset que castiga a estas unidades haciéndolas recibir el doble de daño. Una vez despachado el Wave Brood logramos debilitar a Diemonshark lo suficiente para que Larissa dé el golpe de gracia y activar su bloodlust.
⚔️ Round 2-3 ⚔️
By the start of the second round we lost our tank and Naga Assassin in the rearguard but with Bloodlust activated Larissa mercilessly eliminates Tide Bite and the Venari to increase all of her stats by X2, so in the third round Uraeus wastes his attack on Chaos Agent so that Larissa finally finishes him off and later the Pelacor Bandit does the same giving us a quick and resounding victory.
Para el comienzo del segundo round perdimos a nuestro tanque y a Naga Assassin en la retaguardia pero con el Bloodlust activado Larissa elimina sin miramientos a Tide Bite y al Venari para aumentar en un X2 todas sus estadísticas, asi en el tercer round Uraeus desperdicia su ataque en Chaos Agent para que finalmente Larissa lo acabe y posteriormente haga lo mismo el Pelacor Bandit otorgándonos una victoria rápida y contundente.

In this second battle I thought that our opponent would use a combination of long-range magic units so I used Jini Guise to protect my units from the archers and his Blind ability to increase their evasion rate. But the opponent chose an entirely magic formation, let's see how this battle ends.
En esta segunda batalla pensé que nuestro oponente usaría una combinación de unidades mágicas con rango largo asi que usé a Jini Guise para proteger mis unidades de los arqueros y su habilidad Blind para aumentar su la tasa de evasión. Pero el oponente escogió una formación enteramente mágica, veamos como termina esta batalla.
⚔️ Battle/Batalla
🔥 Round 1-2
In the first round we observed that it was a good idea to choose the chaos dragon, its blast ability helped us to dispatch Spirit Hoarder at the very beginning of the battle, in the process our Fungus Flinger is sacrificed increasing the speed of the Void Dragon. In the second round we lost our Naga Assassin but we have already managed to do quite a bit of damage to the enemy lineup.
En el primer round observamos que fue una buena idea escoger al Chaos Dragon, su habilidad blast nos ayudó a despachar a Spirit Hoarder tan solo comenzar la batalla, en el proceso se sacrifica nuestro Fungus Flinger aumentando la velocidad del Void Dragon. En el segundo round perdimos a nuestro Naga Assassin pero ya hemos logrado hacer bastante daño a la alineación enemiga.
🔥 Rounds 3-4
We reach the third round and with the enemy lineup so weakened the Chaos Dragon achieves what we were hoping for, a double kill with the blast! By dispatching Magi of Chaos and Blackmoor Wild Elf, we are free from the danger of these 2 cards. In the 4th round we only manage to weaken the enemy further, but the most important thing is that the Void Dragon is now dodging all attacks.
Llegamos al tercer round y al estar tan debilitada la alineación enemiga el Chaos Dragon logra lo que tanto esperábamos, doble kill con el blast! Despachando a Magi of Chaos y Blackmoor Wild Elf, nos libramos así del peligro de estas 2 cartas. En el 4to round solo logramos debilitar más al enemigo, pero lo más importante es que el Void Dragon ya esta esquivando todos los ataques.
🔥 Rounds 5-7
In the 5th round we manage to get rid of the healing Goblin, we also lose ours but we have already left our opponent with only 2 cards. Now with greater magic damage our Void Dragon eliminates Peryton Regal leaving the Micelic Slipspawn alone against Void Dragon who now dodges all of its attacks and is finally eliminated by Chaos Dragon. Victory!
En el 5to round logramos quitarnos de encima al Goblin sanador, nosotros también pérdemos al nuestro pero ya hemos dejado a nuestro oponente con solo 2 cartas. Ahora con un mayor daño mágico nuestro Void Dragon elimina a Peryton Regal dejando al Micelic Slipspawn solo contra Void Dragon que ahora esquiva todos sus ataques y finalmente es eliminado por Chaos Dragon. Victoria!
🌿Conclusions/Conclusiones🌊
- Clearly having stronger and higher level gladius will help you achieve victories more easily, so you should always keep opening Gladius packs, no matter if they are legendary or common cards, they all have a decisive weight on the battlefield equally. Below I leave you a last battle using a common Gladius card against the most recent and dangerous summoner of the airdrop: Elias Max Pruitt.
- Claramente tener gladius cada vez más fuerte y de mayor nivel ayudará a conseguir victorias más sencillamente por lo que siempre debes mantenerte abriendo Gladius packs, no importa si son cartas legendarias o comunes todas tienen un peso decisivo en el campo de batalla por igual. Abajo te dejo una ultima batalla usando una carta Gladius común contra el más reciente y peligroso invocador del airdrop: Elias Max Pruitt.
