October of progress in Frontiers, Brawls and enjoying the new Halloween skins! - Social media challenge [Eng/Esp]
Hello again, Splinterlands and Hivers community! We're already on the eve of Halloween, and of course, the latest game update has brought us some great surprises, which we'll see below. But first, I'd like to tell you that along with this new news, it also coincided with the end of the season, and as you can see, I barely farmed a few glints. This isn't because I'm disinterested in ranking; it's because I need the Foundations Edition Archons and monsters at the maximum level to complement our Conclave card set, since it's with these sets and the Rebellion rewards that we'll advance in this format. This is the reason why I've fallen a bit behind with the farming of reward cards, but we'll catch up. Let's start with the most important thing: the inclusion of a new aspect in the ranked dashboard, which is great, and most importantly: Halloween-themed skins for certain cards in the Modern/Frontier format. Let's begin!
Hola de nuevo comunidad de Splinterlands y Hivers! Ya estamos en vísperas de Halloween y por supuesto la última actualización del juego nos ha traído grandes sorpresas que veremos a continuación, pero antes comentarles que junto a estas nuevas noticias también ha coincidido con el final de temporada y como pueden ver a duras penas farmié unas pocas fracciones de glints, no es porque este desinteresado del ranking, es que necesito los arcontes y monstruos de la edición foundations al máximo nivel para complementar nuestra edición de cartas Conclave ya que es con estas ediciones + las rewards rebellion con las que vamos avanzar en este formato. Esta es la razón por la que me he quedado un poco atrás con el farming de cartas rewards pero ya nos recuperaremos, comencemos por lo más importante y es la inclusión de un nuevo aspecto en el dashboard del ranked que esta genial y lo más importante: skins temáticas de halloween para ciertas cartas del formato moderno/frontier. Comencemos!
Since October 11th, the inclusion of 13 themed skins was announced. We had seen these Splinterlands initiatives before, but it was something circumstantial. The skins would appear on cards during a certain season, be it Halloween or Christmas, and when it ended, the skins would return to their original design, disappearing into time and space. Well, now that's in the past. Splinterlands has introduced these new skins, which we can purchase with Glint tokens and which correspond to common, rare, epic, and legendary cards, each with a specific price.
Desde el 11 de Octubre se había anunciado la inclusión de 13 skins temáticos, ya habíamos visto estas iniciativas de Splinterlands anteriormente pero era algo circunstancial, te aparecían las skins en las cartas por cierta temporada ya sea halloween o navidad y al terminar, las skins volvían a su diseño original perdiéndose en el tiempo y el espacio. Bueno ahora eso quedó en el pasado, splinterlands nos ha presentado estas nuevas skins que podremos comprar con tokens glints y que corresponden a cartas comunes, raras, épicas y legendarias, cada una con un precio en específico.
If you noticed, at the beginning, with a lot of effort I managed to surpass 1,000 Glints and was obsessed with having these skins. This led me to burn some golden cards from the Chaos Legion edition that I had loose in my deck to buy them. Let's start with the less striking ones: SPOOKY Vicious Giraffe & SPOOKY Stampeding Calf, since they are common, their price is 500 glints, perhaps that's why their art is the least worked on, but it simply seems like they changed color, even so I bought them.
Si te fijaste al principio, con mucho esfuerzo logré superar los 1000 glints y tenía fomo por tener estas skins, eso me llevo a quemar algunas cartas doradas de la edición Chaos Legion que tenía sueltas en mi mazo para comprar estas skins. Empecemos por las menos llamativas: SPOOKY Vicious Giraffe & SPOOKY Stampeding Calf por ser comunes su precio es de 500 glints quizás por eso su arte sea el menos trabajado pero es que simplemente pareciera que los cambiaron de color, aún así los compre.

Now for my two favorite promotional skins: SPOOKY Yaba's Pickle, which is the most used promotional skin in Modern ranked and has given me the most wins + bonuses. I simply love this card. Then we have the vampire skin of SPOOKY Kelan Gaines. This card brings me so much joy because it marked the end of the bastard Rebellion set, and I can't find any more adjectives to describe how much I hate that set and how it mutilated/unbalanced the Modern meta. In short, these are two skins that I didn't hesitate to include in my collection because they're some of the cards I use the most in Modern.
Ahora vamos con mis 2 skins promocionales favoritas: SPOOKY Yaba's Pickle que es la promocional que más fue utilizado en el ranking moderno y más victorias + bonus me ha dado, simplemente me encanta esta carta. Luego tenemos el skin vampirezco de SPOOKY Kelan Gaines esta carta me da muchas alegrías porque significó el cierre de la bastarda edición Rebellion y de la que no puedo encontrar más adjetivos para describir cuanto odio esa edición y como mutiló/desbalanceó el meta de moderno. En definitiva 2 skins que no dudé en incluir a mi colección pues son de las cartas que más uso en moderno.
In the end, I bought all the skins except for the two legendary ones, not because I didn't like them, but because I don't have those two cards in particular and was already short on glints to buy them. I hope to raise the necessary 40K to buy them by the end of this season, which is just starting, and finally secure them in the collection. In short, these skins are great, and I think it's an excellent idea to enable the ability to buy them with glints. I hope this is the seed for future skin harvests that we can buy in-game. It would be great if it weren't limited to the Modern format and included Chaos Legion/Untamed cards.
Al final compré todas las skins a excepción de las 2 legendarias, y no es porque no me gustaran, sino que esas 2 cartas en particular no las tengo y ya estaba corto de glints para comprarlas. Espero al final de esta temporada que esta comenzando reunir los 40K necesarios para comprarlas y finalmente asegurarlas en la colección. En resumen estas Skins son geniales y me parece una idea excelente el habilitar la posibilidad de comprarlas con glints, espero que esta sea la semilla para futuras zafras de skins que podamos comprar en el juego y sería perfecto que no se limitara al formato moderno e incluyera cartas Chaos Legion/Untamed.

Advancing in Frontier/Avanzando en Frontier
Well, friends, regarding Frontier, my addiction to this format hasn't diminished one bit. I'm completely obsessed with taking these cards to the maximum level. Besides, the fact that the format is so minimalist with few cards makes it easy to learn each of the cards and how to use them in formats like Modern. Of course, I brought my new skin to the battle, although I thought it was unfair that only one Foundation card had a themed skin, and it's the SPOOKY Vengeful Monk. It's a rare card, but the skin looked perfect on it!
Bueno amigos con respecto a Frontier, mi adicción a este formato no ha disminuido ni un poco, estoy completamente obsesionado con llevar estas cartas al máximo nivel a parte que siendo el formato tan minimalista con pocas cartas se hace sencillo de conocer cada una de las cartas y como aprovecharlas en formatos como moderno. Por supuesto que saqué a relucir mi nueva skin a la batalla, aunque me pareció injusto que solo 1 carta Foundation tenía skin temática y se trata de SPOOKY Vengeful Monk es una carta rara pero el skin le quedó perfecto!

Blood Moon
The other new feature coming with this holiday is the activation of a new ruleset called Blood Moon, which adds a bit more action and frenzy to the games, as this rule applies the Bloodlust ability to all units on the battlefield.

For this battle, I used the new rare death card: Moros Malik, a ranged card with the Opportunist ability. It was a risk to use, but it was worth it. He managed to take out a couple of unsuspecting players and boost his stats to become a true beast! I also want to highlight the new design they created when fighting with this ruleset active; it's great and goes in line with the creepy look of the Blood Moon.
Para esta batalla usé la nueva carta rara de muerte: Moros Malik es rango con la habilidad oportunista, fue un riesgo usarla pero valió la pena logró cepillarse a un par de incautos y aumentar sus estadísticas para convertirse en una verdadera bestia! También quiero destacar el nuevo diseño que hicieron al momento de luchar con esta ruleset activa, esta genial y va en sintonía con el aspecto creepy de la luna sangrienta.
I didn't win any cards in the draw on Monday, but I've already opened a large number of Foundations packs this week. Below are the most notable ones that have helped me level up archons and monsters.

This week we managed to get the archons Incessant Sage and Thalgrimore to level 4 and 3, finally 2 archons above level 2! This is very, very important because it allows me to use the legendaries at the maximum level for this format, which is 2, and I already have several of them at level 2. So, since I had been accumulating rare and common cards from these 2 splinters for weeks, I upgraded them too, and the commons are now at level 4 and the rares between levels 2 and 3.
Esta semana logramos llevar a nivel 4 y 3 a los arcontes Incessant Sage y Thalgrimore, finalmente 2 arcontes por encima del nivel 2! Esto es muy muy importante porque me permite usar las legendarias al máximo nivel para este formato que es 2 y ya tengo varias de ellas en nivel 2. Entonces como ya tenía semanas acumulando cartas raras y comunes de estos 2 splinters las upgradié también y las comunes ya están en lvl 4 y las raras entre lvl 2 y 3.

My biggest challenge has been upgrading the epic cards beyond level 3. I've been lucky and some have gotten gold foil, so by default they're level 2, but beyond that level it's been difficult to get more cards. Regarding the commons and rares, we're just starting at levels 4 and 5, so we'll have to accumulate 30 more BCX for the commons and between 20 and 11 BCX for the rare cards.
Mi mayor dificultad ha sido upgradear las cartas épicas más allá del nivel 3, he tenido suerte y algunas me han salido lámina dorada asi que por defecto están lvl 2 pero más allá de ese nivel si ha sido complicado conseguir más cartas. Respecto a las comunes y raras apenas estamos partiendo de los niveles 4 y 4, así que tendremos que acumular 30 bcx más para las comunes y entre 20 a 11 bcx para las cartas raras.
Just today I got the copy of Little Sister I needed for level 2, I have it golden but I decided to put it on sale to see if I can buy the copies I need to get the water and earth archons to level 3. So for now we have made progress with these 2 splinters I hope to level up at least one more of the archons I have at level 2, since it is increasingly common that I am paired with opponents who have their archons at lvl 3 or even 4 and it is almost impossible to defeat them.
Justo hoy conseguí la copia de Little Sister que necesitaba para el nivel 2, la tengo dorada pero decidí ponerla a la venta para ver si puedo comprar las copias que necesito para llevar los arcontes de agua y tierra a nivel 3. Así que por ahora hemos avanzado con estos 2 splinters espero subir de nivel aunque sea uno más de los arcontes que tengo en nivel 2, ya que cada vez es más frecuente que me emparejan con oponentes que tienen sus arcontes lvl 3 o incluso 4 y es casi imposible derrotarlos.

This time, if we manage to take first place, I've maintained my average of 5 wins and 2 losses so far, not bad for Tier 5. I hope that with the addition of the new Conclave reward cards, new cards will appear that will allow for creative lineups for Brawls.
En esta ocasión si logramos llevarnos el primer lugar, hasta ahora he mantenido mi promedio de 5 victorias y 2 derrotas, nada mal para estar en Tier 5, espero que con la incorporación de las nuevas cartas Conclave reward aparezcan nuevas cartas que permitan diseñar alineaciones creativas para las Brawls.

Of course, the most notable battle was using one of my favorite neutral epic cards and debuting a new skin: SPOOKY Halfling Refugee. It was a tough battle, with a 12-mana limit, so this is a battle for this card as a tank. I don't have many 0- or 1-mana cards, so I went all in on that neutral tank card and Katrelba Gobson as an offensive unit alongside Uraeus, who once had a themed skin. I also think it's unfair that gladiator cards don't have skins; with how powerful they are, they'd be better served by dedicating alternate art to them.
Por supuesto la batalla más destacada fue usando una de mis cartas épicas neutras favoritas y estrenando skin nueva: SPOOKY Halfling Refugee. Era una batalla complicada, con un límite de mana de 12, así que esta es una batalla para esta carta como tanque. No tengo muchas cartas de mana 0 o 1 así que aposté todo por esa carta neutra de tanque y Katrelba Gobson como unidad ofensiva junto a Uraeus que en su momento tuvo su skin temático. También me parece injusto que las cartas gladiadoras no tengan Skins, con lo poderosas que son que que se les haría justicia dedicándoles un arte alternativo.

We took a few Merits to buy three gladius packs and continue adding cards. I didn't expect to level up cards because I'd need to open more than 100 packs to collect a good number of copies. The good thing is that all the cards were common and rare, including a golden one, which was equally common.
Tomamos unos pocos méritos para comprar 3 gladius packs y seguir sumando cartas, no esperaba subir cartas de nivel porque necesitaría abrir más de 100 packs para reunir una buena cantidad de copias. Lo bueno es que todas las cartas fueron comunes y raras, incluyendo una dorada pero que era igualmente común.
