My participation in the Phone Photography Contest! - #74: Postcards of Resilience [Eng/Esp]

Hey, friends of Feel Good! I hadn't planned to write today, as I was planning to go out and buy some things for the house in the afternoon. But this morning I was pleasantly surprised by this little flower that I'm bringing you today, contest #74. It's so small that it's in a small coffee cup. But first, let me tell you why this little flower surprised me and why it's a testament to resilience.

This little plant was brought to me from the foothills of Cerro Ávila and had already bloomed. However, I was in the middle of a post that ended up being extremely long and took me several hours to finish. In the end, I forgot to photograph it, and when I wanted to do so the next day, the flower had already wilted and looked like you see in the photos below. I felt bad for not taking advantage of that opportunity, but I didn't give up. For six weeks, I kept changing the water, placing it in the sun, and praying for it to bloom again. I didn't know what kind of plant it was, so I wasn't sure if it would bloom again. Also, coming from a cold area like Cerro Ávila, as the weeks went by, I was losing faith that I would ever see it bloom again.

But after all those weeks, yesterday afternoon I saw this little plant sprouting a tiny, thin petal the size of a needle. I was surprised, but I didn't hold out much hope. It was then that this morning I woke up to the surprise of a full bloom! It seemed incredible to me that it managed to do it; against all odds, it managed to prevail and finally give me this spectacle of a flower. A true testament to plant resilience. So, whenever you feel like everything is against you, whenever you feel like you're about to give up, remember this flower and the will of its plant to achieve the exceptional.

Que tal amigos de Feel Good! No tenía planeado escribir el día de hoy ya que tenía planes de salir a comprar algunas cosas para la casa en la tarde. Pero esta mañana he sido gratamente sorprendido con esta pequeña flor que hoy les traigo al presente concurso #74, es tan pequeña que esta en un pequeño vaso de café. Pero antes, déjame contarte porque esta pequeña flor me sorprendió y porque es una prueba de resiliencia.

Esta pequeña planta me la trajeron desde las faldas del Cerro Ávila y ya había florecido, pero estaba en medio de una publicación que terminó quedándome en extremo larga y me tomo varias horas terminarlo, al final olvidé fotografiarla y cuando quise hacerlo al día siguiente ya la flor se había marchitado y tenía el aspecto que ves en las fotos de abajo. Me sentí mal por no aprovechar esa oportunidad, pero no me di por vencido durante 6 semanas estuve cambiándole el agua, colocándola al sol y rezando para que volviera a florecer. No sabía que planta era así que no estaba seguro si iba a volver a florecer y también porque al venir de una zona fría como el Cerro Ávila con el paso de las semanas iba perdiendo la fe en que podría volver a verla florecer.

Pero luego de todas esas semanas ayer en la tarde vi que esta pequeña planta estaba retoñando un pequeño y fino pétalo del tamaño de una aguja, me sorprendió pero no guardaba muchas esperanzas y fue entonces cuando esta mañana amanecí con la sorpresa de una floración completa! Me pareció increíble que lo lograra, contra todo pronóstico logró prevalecer y finalmente regalarme este espectáculo de flor. Una verdadera prueba de resiliencia vegetal, así que cada vez que sientas que tienes todo en contra, cuando ya sientas que estás apunto de bajar los brazos, recuerda esta flor y la voluntad de su planta para lograr lo excepcional.
