My entry in the Shadow Hunters SMASh Contest - Round #389: Urban Shadows of August [Eng/Esp]
Hey, friends of Shadow Hunters! We're in the final days of August, and I didn't want to let these last days of summer pass without taking some photographs of the sunny days we're currently enjoying. So, for this round #389 of the Smash contest, I took a few photos while I was shopping. The large Avenida Urdaneta runs through the city center and predominantly houses government buildings, so you don't tend to be very kind to the surrounding vegetation.
And the shadow I'm bringing you is a demonstration of resilience and how cruel we sometimes are to nature. This shadow is generated by long, woody trees that grow along the entire avenue. It makes me sad when their branches are cut. You can see the trunk of the tree that generates this wonderful shadow, deformed by the number of times its branches are cut off. The same can be seen in its siblings as you go up or down the avenue.

Even so, these trees are an example of resilience. They grow longer to the point of creating leanings, and, as the height of irreverence regarding the cut sites, branches grow back. Plants have the ability to induce growth when one of their parts is cut, like grass. The same happens with these trees, and yet, in their act of resilience, they give us shade on sunny days, like the one you can see in these photos, a natural dome to protect us from these sunny days. I can only thank these trees for not giving up and continuing to give us these wide shadows and a beautiful view that isn't just concrete and asphalt.
This was my contribution to this week's Smash contest, friends. As I said before, these are going to be the last sunny days before entering the final quarter of the year. Afterwards, the days will get shorter and become permanently cloudy to rainy, so I'm trying to enjoy these last few sunny days. See you in the next Smash contest. Best regards.

Que tal amigos de Shadow Hunters! Estamos en los últimos días de agosto y no quería dejar pasar estos últimos días de verano sin tomar algunas fotografías de los días soleados que actualmente tenemos y así para este round#389 del concurso Smash tomé unas cuantas fotos mientras iba de compras, la gran Avenida Urdaneta atraviesa el centro de la ciudad y predominantemente solo hay edificios gubernamentales por lo que no sueles ser muy amables con la vegetación circundante.
Y justamente la sombra que te traigo es una muestra de resistencias y lo cruel que a veces somos con la naturaleza. Esta sombra es generada largos arboles leñosos que crecen a lo largo de toda la avenida, me da tristeza cuando les cortan las ramas, el árbol que genera esta maravillosa sombra puedes ver su tronco deformado por la cantidad de veces que le son cercenadas sus ramas, lo mismo se ve en sus hermanos a medida que bajas o subes por la avenida.

Aun así estos arboles son un ejemplo de resistencia, se vuelven más largos hasta el punto de crear inclinados y como el culmen de la irreverencia sobre los sitios de corte vuelven a crecer ramas, las plantas tienen esa capacidad de inducir el crecimiento cuando una de sus partes es cortada, como la hierba, lo mismo pasa con estos árboles y aún asi en su acto de resilencia nos regalan sombra en los días soleados como la que puedes ver en estas fotos, una cúpula natural para protegernos de estos días soleados. No me queda sino agradecerles a estos árboles por no darse por vencidos y seguir regalandonos estas amplias sombras y un lindo panorama que no sea únicamente concreto y asfalto.
Este fue mi aporte para el concurso smash de esta semana amigos, como dije anteriormente estos van a ser los últimos días soleados antes de entrar en el último trimestre del año, posteriormente los días serán más cortos y permanentemente nublado a lluvioso, así que trato de disfrutar estos últimos días soleados. I am a lover of nature as well, in fact the sight of trees gives me peace. I especially admire how the shadows of the leaves just spread across the street, giving it a unique natural beauty.
