A golden pickle is enough for victory! Yaba's Pickle arrives in the Modern format - Social Media Challenge [Eng/Esp]
Happy Friday, Splinterlands and Hivers community! In this last week of June and also the last season of the month, we've managed to advance solely with our Conclave Arcana (CA) cards. We're now in the Silver II league, and if we're lucky, we'll be able to advance to Silver I. So far, the reward chests have been quite generous in terms of merits and energy, which are the consumables I use the most.

En esta última semana de Junio y también última temporada del mes hemos logrado avanzar únicamente con nuestras cartas Conclave Arcana, ya estamos en la liga de plata II y si tenemos suerte podremos avanzar a plata I. Por ahora los cofres de recompensa han sido bastante generosos en cuanto a méritos y energía que son los consumibles que más utilizo.
However, just this week we finally had the opportunity to purchase the promotional card many of us have been waiting for: Yaba's Pickle! As I've shared in other posts, I'm starting from scratch in Modern, focusing only on AC cards and complementing them solely with Rebellion reward cards, so in many cases I'm left with few options available in battles. So I was very focused on incorporating this card into my deck and testing it out in combat.
Sin embargo justamente esta semana tuvimos finalmente la oportunidad de comprar la carta promocional que muchos estábamos esperando, Yaba's Pickle! Como en otras publicaciones le he compartido estoy empezando desde cero en moderno enfocándome en solo cartas CA y complementándolas únicamente con las cartas rewards Rebellion por lo que en muchos casos me quedo corto con las opciones que puedo utilizar en las batallas. Así que estaba muy atento a incorporar esta carta en mi mazo y probarla en combate.
Beforehand, the game captures our staking SPs, and thus, for every 100 SPs staked, we'll have the opportunity to purchase one copy of this card for 150 dec. I qualified for a total of 34 copies which I ended up buying and previously also bought enough midnight potions to increase our chances of a possible black foil.
Previamente el juego hace una captura de nuestros sps en staking y así, por cada 100 sps en stake tendremos la oportunidad de comprar 1 copia de esta carta por 150 dec. Yo califiqué para un total de 34 copias que termine comprando y previamente compré también las suficientes pociones de media noche para aumentar nuestras posibilidades de una posible black Foil.
Once the cards and active potions were purchased, the final result was 33 regular copies and 1 magnificent gold copy! That single gold card is more than enough to play in Bronze. Later, I'll buy 4 more copies to get it to level 5, which would be the cap for the Silver League. For now, we'll only use the gold one for ranking, and I'll keep the remaining unfused regular copies for rental.
Una vez compradas las cartas y las pociones activas, el resultado final fueron 33 copias regulares y 1 magnífica copia dorada! Ya esa simple carta dorada es más que suficiente para jugar en bronce, más adelante compraré 4 copias más y así llevarla a nivel 5 que sería el tope para la liga de plata. Por lo pronto solo usaremos la dorada para rankear y conservaré el resto de copias regulares sin fusionar para colocarlas en alquiler.
Yaba´s Pickle
Okay, so we have a gold promo card, and using it will give us a 10% bonus for being gold and another 10% for being promotional. As you can see, its mana cost allows us to use it in Little League ruleset battles. Finally, this card doesn't have any type of attack, but it has very good health and defense stats, so it can be used as a mini-tank in low-mana battles or even to cover the rear. But in this post I want to highlight the potential of this card if we accompany it with monsters that have the weapons training ability and give it belligerence in battle.
Bien, entonces tenemos una carta promo dorada y usarla nos dará un 10% de bonificación por ser dorada y otro 10% por ser promocional. Como pueden ver su coste de mana nos permite usarla en batallas con la ruleset little league y finalmente esta carta no cuenta con ningún tipo de ataque pero tiene muy buenas estadísticas de vida y defensa, por lo que puede usarse como un mini tanque en batallas de bajo mana o también para cubrir la retaguardia. Pero en este post quiero destacar el potencial de esta carta si la acompañamos de monstruos que tengan la habilidad weapons training y darle beligerancia en la batalla.
1st Battle/ 1era Batalla
Rebellion has several cards with the Weapons Training ability, but the only one I was able to purchase with that ability was Moxian Rebel, which gave me very good results using the Oblivion Archon and I consider the best candidate to build our pickles, also considering that we'll be using Marlai Singariel as the archon, which will boost our magic damage by +1.
Rebellion tienen varias cartas con la habilidad Weapons Training, pero la única que pude comprar con esa habilidad fue Moxian Rebel la cual me daba muy buenos resultados usando al Arconte Oblivion y considero el mejor candidato para armar a nuestro pepinillos, considerando además que usaremos como arconte a Marlai Singariel que potenciará nuestro daño mágico en +1.

⚔️Rounds 1 - 3
The great advantage of the scattershot ruleset is that if all your units are magic attack units and you boost their damage with this archon, you have a great chance of breaking your opponent's secondary row, as happened in this first round, where we eliminated Moribund Arrowbait and Thunderous Herald, leaving the great legendary tank Bellowmancer as a great opponent, as he had time to eliminate two of our vanguard units but ultimately fell in the third round due to our overwhelming attack. Next battle!
La gran ventaja que tiene la ruleset scattershot es que si todas tus unidades son de ataqué mágico y potencias su daño con este arconte, tienes grandes posibilidades de romper la fila secundaria de tu oponente, como ocurrió en este primer round donde eliminamos a Moribund Arrowbait y a Thunderous Herald dejando al gran tanque legendario Bellowmancer que fue un gran contrincante pues tuvo tiempo de eliminar a 2 de nuestras unidades en la vanguardia pero finalmente cayo en el 3er round por lo abrumador de nuestro ataque. Siguiente batalla!
2nd Battle/ 2da Batalla
In this fight, we're adding an extra % bonus by adding Warborn Shaman to our lineup. One of the things I've noticed is that lineups with magic attacks are much more effective now with this new meta in modern. We'll reinforce our lineup with the Moxian/Yaba Pair in the back positions, and as a tank, we'll use Commander Slade to contain attacks in the vanguard.
En esta batalla añadimos un % extra de bonificación añadiendo a nuestra alineación a Warborn Shaman. Usa de las cosas que he notado es que las alineaciones con ataques mágicos son mucho más efectivos ahora con este nuevo meta en moderno, reforzaremos nuestra alineación con el Par Moxian/Yaba en las últimas posiciones y como tanque usaremos a Commander Slade para contener los ataques en la vanguardia.

⚔️Rounds 1 - 4
Even though our opponent also used the same tank, he could do little to withstand the siege of our attacks. With this new Water Archon, Warborn Shaman's damage is obscene and more than enough to bring any tank to its knees, while the Moxian/Yaba pair are responsible for finishing off the rest of the enemy lineup. This battle could have lasted much less if not for the presence of Divines Shield on all units.
Aún cuando nuestro oponente también uso el mismo tanque, poco pudo hacer para soportar el asedio que fueron nuestros ataques. Con este nuevo arconte de agua el daño de Warborn Shaman es obsceno y más que suficiente para doblarle las rodillas a cualquier tanque, mientras que el par Moxian/Yaba se encargan de rematar el resto de la alineación enemiga, esta batalla pudo durar mucho menos si no fuera por la presencia del divines shield en todas las unidades.
In short, Yaba's Pickle was the non-attack card I needed to further strengthen my lineup. We're still a long way from seeing this card's full potential, and I say this with an eye toward the next set of cards, which I hope will lead us to a more fun Modern format that attracts more players. En resumen Yaba's Pickle era la carta sin ataque que necesitaba para fortalecer todavía más mi alineación, todavía estamos muy lejos de ver el potencial completo de esta carta y esto lo digo pensando en la próxima edición de cartas que tengo la esperanza que nos lleve a un formato moderno más divertido y que atraiga más jugadores.
