Off-topic ..I want to participate in the referral program , which is better.. tell My referrals to sign up via the keystore option or tell them to sign up via the normal hive signup ??

Keystore always! It's just so much easier and more flexible.
Keystore is almost always a better option since it allows so much more flexibility and easier backup.
