Sobota dopoledne byla jako stvořená pro malý výlet.

Na skalnatém ostrohu nad řekou Malší stojí zbytky středověkého strážného hradu. Hrad sice nebyl dobit, ale stejně měl smůlu. Jeho majitel, Oldřich z Rožmberka, nechal hrad pobořit, aby se nedostal do rukou husitským vojskům (první polovina 15. století).

Saturday morning was perfect for a short trip.
My choice was again to visit the castle ruins. This time we will look south of České Budějovice to the village of Pořešín.
On a rocky promontory above the Malší River stand the remains of a medieval guard castle. Although the castle was not conquered, it was still unlucky. Its owner, Oldřich of Rožmberk, had the castle demolished so that it would not fall into the hands of the Hussite troops (first half of the 15th century).

Že tam toho k vidění mnoho není? Jak už jsem psal, hrad byl pobořen v první polovině 15. století. Od té doby bylo spoustu zdiva rozebráno na okolní stavby.

Tyto stavby ale byly postaveny mnohem později. Je to, dalo by se napsat, český fenomén. Kde bylo nějaké zajímavé místo u vody, vyrůstaly tam počátkem 20. století trampské osady, které se v průběhu času přeměnily na chatové kolonie.
But these buildings were built much later. It is, one could say, a Czech phenomenon. Wherever there was an interesting place by the water, tramp settlements grew up there in the early 20th century, which over time turned into cottage colonies.

Pokud se rozhodnete hrad navštívit autem nebo na motocyklu, je potřeba tyto vozidla nechat na parkovišti v obci Pořešín. Na kole můžete dojet až k hradu. Kočárky se tam dostanou také.
Místo je zajímavé i pro vyznavače geocachingu. V okolí hradu jsou minimálně 3 keše.
