Bylo ráno o poslední jarní neděli. Měl jsem pro sebe pár hodin, než nastane „nedělní kolotoč“ kolem psů, sporáku a psaní pro #aroundtheworld.

Nová řeka vlastně není řekou v pravém slova smyslu. Je to uměle vybudované koryto pro odvedení přebytečné vody z řeky Lužnice. Budoval ji v polovině 17 století Jakub Krčín z Jelčan (Wikipedia).

Pro zájemce o historii mám ještě jedno jméno, které je s tímto krajem spojené. Je to Ema Destinová. Operní diva, která byla ve světě známá jako Ema Destiny. Jeden čas byla majitelkou zámku ve Stráži nad Nežárkou. Dnes je tam muzeum věnované této pěvkyni.
Zmiňuji tuto ženu proto, že v blízkosti mého výchozího bodu (most), stojí ve stínu památného dubu památník této umělkyni.

For those interested in history, I have another name that is associated with this region. It is Ema Destinová. The opera diva who was known worldwide as Ema Destiny. She was once the owner of the castle in Stráž nad Nežárkou. Today there is a museum dedicated to this singer.
I mention this woman because near my starting point (the bridge), there is a monument to this artist in the shade of a memorial oak.

Památný dub je dub letní a má obvod kmenu asi devět metrů. Stojí tu už víc než 200 let.

Pokud se korytem nežene přívalová voda, je tok řeky skoro nepatrný. Proto je stále zakalená. To však neubírá na kráse odrazům na hladině :-).
If there is no torrential water rushing through the riverbed, the flow of the river is almost negligible. That is why it is still cloudy. However, this does not detract from the beauty of the reflections on the surface :-).
V tomto úseku řeky lemují břehy vzrostlé stromy a místy jsou vývraty (některé hodně staré).

Vy si však, pokud se sem někdy vypravíte, rezervujte času víc. Cyklostezka kolem Nové řeky je vhodná pro rodinný výlet na kolech. Na informačních tabulích se také dozvíte zajímavosti o přírodě okolo řeky. Můžete tak podpořit své zdraví i znalosti :-).
Zkrátka nepřijdou ani milovníci zlatavého moku. Stačí zajet do Stráže nad Nežárkou a zastavit se v místním řemeslném pivovaru. Vaří tam opravdu dobré pivo :-).
Vy si však, pokud se sem někdy vypravíte, rezervujte času víc. Cyklostezka kolem Nové řeky je vhodná pro rodinný výlet na kolech. Na informačních tabulích se také dozvíte zajímavosti o přírodě okolo řeky. Můžete tak podpořit své zdraví i znalosti :-).
Zkrátka nepřijdou ani milovníci zlatavého moku. Stačí zajet do Stráže nad Nežárkou a zastavit se v místním řemeslném pivovaru. Vaří tam opravdu dobré pivo :-).

Lužnici jsem snad jel jenom jednou ... Z Majdalény do Frahelže, to byla první etapa. Někdy počátkem 90.let. Pršelo, byla vyšší voda, teklo to. Chvílemi jsme jeli řekou, chvílemi lesem ... Pádlovali jsme Rožmberk ... Něco si ještě vybavím, něco už ne. Dneska bych to už nedal.
Pokud pořádně nezaprší, je Lužnice skoro do Veselí jenom stružka. Na Nové řece je vody více, ale je to "olej".
