Trump And Ukraine...
In the past couple of days, the internet and the world at large have been agog with the controversial meeting between Donald Trump; the President of the United States, JD Vance; the Vice President, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy; the President of Ukraine. The meeting had been held at the White House and was televised for the entire world to see.
Zelenskky had gone there for talks about how he could get support due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. He was seeing support and more assistance from the US. However, what looked like a plea for help turned into one of the most embarrassing moments televised in history. For some reason, so many things went wrong with the interview.
The small chops is that Zelenskyy’s wardrobe was faulted. He was disrespected for not wearing a suit to the occasion and accused of being disrespectful for that reason. However, according to sources, Zelenskyy has always been wearing combat ready clothes to show solidarity and show that he’s one with his people during such hard times.
But it only got worse because from the look of things, the US wants the war to be over as soon as possible, and the only way that can be achieved would be if Ukraine gives Russia what she wants. And believe me, Russia is asking for a lot. From mineral resources to weapon restrictions and ceding of territory to Russia. This is a lot and Zelenskyy is not willing to give in just yet. Agreeing to such terms would mean that Ukraine would forever be under Russia’s thumb and would only be able to do what The Kremlin permits.
Well, this is the deal Trump wants them to sign. He threatened that if Ukraine failed to do that, they would withdraw their support from the country. So now, the question on everyone’s lips now is, is this a form of bullying? Is Trump on the side of Ukraine or is he simply helping Putin get what he wants? I know that as the President of the US, he has to do what he feels is the best for his people, and sending funds and troops to Ukraine is already a lot, seeing as those are American soldiers that would be dying in the war and American dollars that would be burning.
Also, there are also speculations about the war going on for so long specifically because of the aid Ukraine is getting from the US, allegedly though. Honestly, there are so many takes right now on the internet, and when you look at it, you really don’t know which side is right. There are those who support Trump’s decisions and can’t get why Ukraine just won’t sign the damn deal. And then, there are everyone else who are disgusted by everything that has been going on.
Personally, I don’t like that move at all. At the very least, even if the US won’t help Ukraine anymore, they shouldn’t help Russia by forcing Ukraine to sign the deal. The price for peace is just too steep. It’s like telling someone that the only way they would not be beaten to a pulp everyday, is if they’d give up food and money and allow you to chain them up. Who would agree to such a deal?
As far as I’m concerned, if you go back as far as you want, war has always been one of the most pointless things humans engage in. War has always and will always be about one man’s greed. That’s all. Check all the great wars in history, there is always one man who wants something that he shouldn’t. One man who wants to take over the world, another man who wants another country. One man who wants the resources of another country in his control. On and on… then they go to war, and the opposing side will have no choice but to defend themselves. And what it will lead to are millions of lives being lost. Just because of one man.
It’s painful, really. This battle between Ukraine and Russia has been going on for years now, but it seems the world has come to terms with it and learned to move on. Even down here in Africa, neighboring countries are ravaged by war and serious conflicts, but the world doesn’t care. Here in Nigeria, kidnappers, bandits, terrorists are the ones waging wars on us. But if you’re not in Nigeria suffering, this, then you probably don’t give a damn about it.
I really don’t know what the world is turning into. It’s hard to go somewhere that there isn’t some form of violence or civil unrest. And when you go to the hospital, you’ll see us churning out more and more babies. The world is burning, but we’re still reproducing. Is this the world we want to bring children into? A world that is torn apart by war and conflict?
The children are not the problem, of course. I just wish that we can do better for them. We can provide a future where they’ll be safe and not have to worry about some country coming to conquer them and enslave them. Why can’t we just do that? Why must there always be a show of power? It’s just tiring… I swear.
My heart goes out to everyone right now all over the world experiencing violence and unrest. Be strong, and be safe.

In this conflict, Ukraine has no chance, regardless of the number of allies on its side. Russia will get everything it demands, and Zelensky has only ensured that this will most likely happen in the bloodiest way possible.
Since 2014, the US and NATO have been pumping Ukraine with weapons and conducting Russophobic propaganda, fueling aggression, and in the end, they failed to win on the battlefield.
Trump is dumping a loss-making asset like ballast. Supporting the Nazis and Bandera followers who seized power in Ukraine is no longer in fashion. But in Europe, they still hope that Ukraine, with someone's help, can defeat Russia... Or maybe they want to use Zelensky as a battering ram against a possible alliance of Trump, Putin, and Xi.
It is obvious that, along with Ukraine, the entire EU will be the losers in this conflict. Economically, it has already lost; now there is a chance to lose World War III as well.
In my opinion, they shouldn't have even started a fight with a stronger opponent, and when you're knocked out, it's time to end the fight by minimizing the consequences.
Well, I doubt it'll be easy for Ukraine to give up what Russia is asking for. If Zelensky does give it all up, what then will be left of the country? Russia only gets stronger. I also see what you mean by using Zelensky as a possible battering ram, because when you notice other countries in the EU, it's almost as if they're using Ukraine as a focal point for everything that they either want or don't want this situation to turn into.
But then, I can foresee an alliance between Trump and Putin, but with Xi? Will that be possible, considering their history the first time Trump became President.
Certainly, meeting Russia's demands would be tantamount to capitulation for Zelensky and Ukraine. However, given Ukraine's growing military power and economy, there is no acceptable way out.
Zelensky, as president, is obligated to protect the lives of the people, not the territories.
Everyone who supports Zelensky initially understood the impossibility of Russia's victory on the battlefield. The calculation was based on a black swan event, such as a coup, terrorist attacks, or the division of the country into nation-states... It didn't work. America understands this and is minimizing losses. Eventually, they will also abandon Taiwan, having extracted as much technology and talent as possible...
America does not need military conflicts, especially foreign ones!
Zelensky continues the war to the detriment of his country and his people. Previous peace proposals from Russia, which he rejected, were much milder in terms of demands. Of course, Russia will take whatever it wants by military means, so the only way to avoid losing the country and its demographics is through negotiations and concessions!
