The Side Perks Of Technology!!!

I believe one of the most shocking revelations about life is the most glaring effect of technology, one that we don’t even see because we’re only preoccupied with the benefits. Yesterday, I talked about how many people repurpose inventions for their own good to hurt others. However, sometimes, people don’t have to repurpose, because there seems to be a natural consequence when technology is being used.
Hell, not just technology, every advancement that you think of always comes with one form of condition or requirement that if you don’t adhere to, you just won’t be able to enjoy the benefits. Many times, we won’t like these side perks, more times, we’d hate them. But the most glaring part of it all is the fact that no matter what, we’d never be able to avoid them. That’s just the gospel truth.

Technology is meant to make our lives easier, but they come with conditions that only bring in more problems for us. Buying a TV is great and all, but to enjoy it, you need power, cable, and if the TV is smart, you need constant internet access. All these things cost money, and if you’re lacking even one of them, the TV is as good as useless! It’ll sit on your table, gathering dust. And there’s nothing you’ll do about it.
Another example of this is cars. You can’t just buy a car and drive it and drive it for the rest of your life, without any worries. That would be great, huh? But no, you’d have to buy fuel every time you use it, you’d have to spend on maintenance, insurance, license, and all those bills that come with owning a car. Let’s not forget the pollution that comes with using the car. If you hate being a tenant, wait until you own your own home, and every single thing you have to do falls squarely on your shoulders as the landlord.

The thing is, it’s almost as if by choosing to use these things, we’re accepting these downsides. It’s kind of like those terms and conditions you’re made to tick when registering for a program. They’re mostly filled up with things you don’t like, but because you really want that thing, you have to make do and endure the discomfort of those perks. Which is what humans are subjected to on a daily basis.
Nobody likes the fumes and pollution on the major roads, but that’s the price of having cars and buses barreling on at all hours of the day. No one likes to pay all those exorbitant fees, but if we don’t pay them, how do we live from day to day? We either starve or we get arrested. As it’s said, many times, the true test of wealth is never about buying a private jet, but about actually maintaining and using it. Because when you think of all the money that goes into one single trip, you’d think twice about buying it. If one could simply buy a plane and that was it, it would have been so easy to raise the money. But that isn’t the case.
So then, what do we do? The truth is that we can’t do anything about it. Whether we accept it or not, we need these things. We need these cars, we need to buy these pieces of technology, in spite of the burdens they bring with them. Because sadly, ours is a society that has become heavily dependent on them.
This is our new reality.

STOPYou are indeed right. We already dependent on it and can't be free from those. We just can adapt and try to minimize the impact.
Yeah... just can't avoid it.
