The Comfort Zone!!!
Getting out of your comfort zone is something that is grossly understated. The truth is, many times, people don’t really get just how difficult it can be to pull yourself out of something that you’re comfortable in. Something that has probably been your reality for years, and you’re suddenly looking to go further, or go differently. Getting out of your comfort zone would never come easily.
It can be akin to breaking a bad habit or an addiction, because humans are basically addicted to comfort, and we’re wired to always seek it. Yet, the more we sink into what we know to be comfortable, the less we’ll be inclined to search for more. The less we are inclined to reach our full potential.
But then, one might think that the comfort zone has to do only with being lazy and wanting to do the hard work to succeed. But that’s only a tiny percentage of what it is. It is also people having to leave something they’re comfortable with, hoping to break new ground in the unknown. It can be like leaving the engineering field and trying out being a doctor. It can be leaving the state that you grew up in and know so many people, to move somewhere strange with more opportunities for growth.
Because for many, since they’ll never be strong enough to leave their comfort zone, they’ll never be strong enough to actually grow. And like I said before, it’s not only with hard work. It can also be with changing certain habits. I know someone who was scared of retirement as his age loomed closer. This wasn’t because he was broke and had no other means to take care of himself. He could very well do that.
However, he told me that he has always been a workaholic, and for decades, that has been the only thing he knows. Retirement for him means spending his entire day, not doing any work at all. Especially with all his kids grown and building their own lives. He was genuinely scared of what his future held for him, and he was considering working on, or even falsifying his age so he won’t have to face that reality.
The thing is, comfort can be very deceptive. It could make you think you’re doing the right thing, but you learn that you’re not. As long as everything is working in your favor, you could want it to be that way, without realizing the different ways things could get better for you. So, it’s never really about leaving a good place to get into a not-so-good place. It can also be about taking steps into the next phase of life.
There are those who have been dating for six, seven, or eight years, simply because the man in the relationship is scared of losing the ‘freedom’ that comes with being a bachelor. These guys will swear on heaven and earth how much they love their fiancée, but for them to take it to the next step, they keep telling themselves that they’re not ready. They’re not ready indeed to leave their comfort zone.
That’s why when a comfort zone is left, it should be left in totality because that’s the only way the real change will come. You can’t be married and living like someone that’s single, just as you can’t be retired and living like someone who still works. It’s never an easy decision, but the people we surround ourselves with and the people we choose to spend it all with will make it worthwhile.
In the short term, the comfort zone is not a bad place. But in the long term, it’s the place where dreams and potential die a natural death.

We all have a comfort zone, and we feel better staying within our comfort zone because it gives us a superior feeling and says that everything is right and in our control, but if we want to grow, we need to face real battles and we need to go out of our comfort zone.
Yeah... being in the comfort zone gives us a sense of security and of power. Even though it can be quite deceptive.

I have just been stuck here creating contents like I am used to and as the days go by, I know that I am not doing well at all
