New Month Doings...

It’s the start of a new week, and not just that, it’s also the start of a new month. Yeah, I know that the month of May started last week, but it started on a weekend. Or at least very close to the weekend. This will be the first full week in the month of May, and from the look of things, it may just turn out to be a pretty great one.

We’re slowly approaching the middle of the year, and so far, it’s been chaotic. So many things have happened, and keeping to the plan is not easy at all. No matter how many plans one makes, life happens, forcing you to change such plans and figure out the next move. Almost every day, you find yourself having to readjust your stance and change your opinions on certain things because you have learned that being rigid is not going to do you any good.

I guess this is why being flexible is very important. If you remain fixated in one thing and refuse to take change into account, it would be very damning. The worst thing that can happen to you as a person is to remain stuck in one position while watching every other person move on with the times. There are so many reasons why people do this.

Some can be a result of a lack of adequate resources. For others, it could very well be pride. I know many people who once felt that they were above social media, and they would never bring themselves to try to earn a living from anything that was on the internet. Now, years later, everyone and their dog are trying hard to earn a living on the internet. They’re doing whatever they can to have even a side hustle on the internet.

It’s all good when you think about it, but it also shows that one should never close their minds to change. The very thing that people despise one day could very well become the one thing that they’ll turn to and end up using as a means of livelihood. As the world evolves and humans progress, we should know that at one time or the other, we would have to change our minds about certain things if we want to grow.

They say that money is no respecter of persons. Money in the hands of a billionaire would still be the same thing in the hands of a pauper. While the use might differ, a thousand naira would still be a thousand naira. In the same way, it won’t matter if the money was found in the trash or if it was found on a bed made of ruby, diamond, and scented candles. Money is money.

It’s sad that people have closed their minds to some legitimate and ethical forms of earning a living. They want something cool, and they want what is trending. Even though the trending thing doesn’t even have their time. We really need to learn… we need to be free and we need to be open to the possibilities of change.

Never say never, indeed. Because you could end up saying it to the one thing that had the possibility to change your entire life. Let’s do better!
