It's Been "Not Too Bad"...
When we got to the month of April, we were leaving the first quarter of the year behind. And I’ve got to say, 2025 has been one of the most topsy-turvy years so far. I had believed that after graduating from school I would be able to just chill while I wait for my call-up letter from NYSC. I didn’t want much, I simply wanted to relax and wait for the government to call me.
However, it’s been a crazy year. In January, I realized that I couldn’t just wait and wait without doing anything. It wouldn’t make any sense. Because at this point, it would be a waste of the number of months that I would be at home if I didn’t even make an attempt to become better or make an investment in myself.
And the only viable option I could think of at the time was to upskill. Thankfully, I have more time on my hands now that I don’t have to report to school every single day. That opened me up for learning a skill. Something that I’ve been taking really seriously. However, it didn’t come without it’s challenges.
Just when I was about to start my first lesson, early in the month of February, my laptop suddenly started acting up. It just wasn’t seeing the internet anymore. No matter how much I rebooted and reset it, the laptop just couldn’t connect to the internet anymore. And for someone that relied heavily on the internet to get my job done, I was in a lot of trouble.
I considered fixing it, but I knew that it was only going to lead to yet another trouble. Remember that I swapped the laptop sometime last year when the previous one I was using at the time crashed. I had done it out of desperation, and now, I had found myself in yet another desperate situation. I couldn’t avoid it any longer, I had to get a new one.
But the prices I was seeing were too steep, and seeing how much of an emergency it was, I couldn’t afford to spend such an amount. And thus, I was forced to take a loan. I didn’t just take a loan, I was even forced to sell some of my tokens to reduce the amount of money that I had to pay back. And that was very helpful. I went to Ikeja and I got the laptop. It was a great sale because since then, I’ve been flexing it and using it to work. My work has been going so great.
Last month, something similar happened as well when my generator broke down totally, and to fix it I needed to spend over N60k. I wasn’t ready for such an exorbitant amount of money, so I opted to get another one. That required yet another loan.
The good thing about all these is that I have a good payment plan for them, and within a month or two, I’d be done paying it all off. I was once scared of loans, but now, I’ve found them to be quite helpful. As long as you’re willing to pay back and you have the means to do so, loans are not something that should be scary. If for any reason, I have a project coming up that I can’t afford, I won’t be scared of taking on a loan because I know that I would definitely be able to pay it.
Thanks to the new laptop, I started the course and so far, I’ve been making good progress. Now, I’ve not been going as fast as I know I can go, my pace has been a bit slow, but I know that I’m learning what I have to. And my goal for this quarter is to be done with the course and master it on a really efficient level. It’s something that I’m sure I’d be able to achieve.
So far, despite all the challenges that this year brought our way, I can’t say that it’s been bad or anything. Because I’ve been learning and I’ve been getting better. It’s only a matter of time before I get everything else that I’m after. I’m sure that I can make that work.

Thank you for this.
Yeah, the first quarter came with its twists and turns but the next quarter seems to be promising.
Yeah... looking forward to that!
Loans can be quite helpful especially during emergency. I have never been a fan of loans, I don't like paying interest at all 😅. Especially the loan apps, they are like loan sharks, waiting to devour people. As long as the loan is from a reliable source, with good interest rates and a good payback strategy, it will make it worth awhile.
Thinking about embarking on NYSC journey, I will ask you to evaluate very carefully. The program is known to affect people's life in ways you can't imagine, most especially online activities.

Omo... I wasn't a fan either, and many of these apps are just thieves with the interests that they demand. But then, it comes in really handy. And as long as you have a payment plan, then it won't really be a trouble.
Hmmm, taking loans scares me a lot, but looking at how helpful it is, I wouldn’t mind taking the risk as long as I have a better plan on how to pay it back.
It’s all good that you have options of taking loans, which makes things easier for you if not putting that amount of money down at once can be frustrating sometimes.
Yeah... being in a state of emergency and not being able to financially cater to the need at hand can be quite frustrating. That's where the loans come in handy.
While reading this post, I felt like I was just reading those incidents twice. It seems I followed your posts everyday, and I almost know many things of your life, at least in this year. Sometimes, I feel we are very close even if we have never met face to face.
By the way, I hope the upcoming months of the year will be good and smooth for you.
Hehe... I'm glad to hear that. I've put a lot of myself out here. Speaking about them here helps me to either make sense of the crazy things happening in my world or to make the big dreams I have seem a bit more real and achievable.
Thank you for consistently following me on my journey.
Loans aren’t bad or that one should be scared of going for it once you have a good means of paying back. I was always scared, too until I took my first big loan two years ago and within 5 months, I was able to pay up. That gave me courage to go for another one this year and thankfully, I’m setting them bit by bit.
Glad you got a new laptop and a generator to ease you and also amplify your time with your new skill online.
Omo... we have to do what we have to do. As long as they're a credible company, there will be no issues with the loan.
