Growth Is Needed!!!

Growth should be constant, and no matter what has happened in a particular area, the growth should be obvious. No matter what, it has to be seen because that is the only acceptable form of life. When you don’t see your little brothers and sisters, or your cousins and nieces, for a year or two, the next time you see them, you find out that so many things about them have changed.

They’ve grown taller, they speak better, and if they’re adolescents, you can see signs of puberty. That’s a sign of growth. Imagine not seeing your little cousin for three years, but when you finally see them, they’re still exactly the same way they were when you last saw them. Yeah, you’re going to ask what's happening.

The thing is, such things don’t only happen with humans and growth, in other areas of our life, growth is essential because when we don’t have it, what then is the point of doing anything? We need to have friends who push us to be better, and they help in our growth. We need to live in an area that will also facilitate that, and we must go to schools that will help in that as well. If not, what’s the point?

Imagine going to school and by the time you graduate, you’re no different from the way you were when you got admitted. Why then did you go to school? Sadly, this issue can be a tricky thing. You see, the opposite of growth is regression (ish), but that is not something that happens often because when it happens, you will know. Falling from level ten down to level two is something that anyone with a working cell in their head would notice and work towards.

The dangerous one is stagnancy, and it comes like a con artist, pretending to be your friend and all, but ultimately stabbing you in the back. Being in one place without going forward or going backward can be one of the worst things to happen to anyone. At least, regression could have some benefits because falling from grace could give you the needed motivation to work harder to return to the top. However, stagnancy could come from a place of comfort or a place of ignorance. The person in question might not even know that they’re stuck. While the rest of the world moves on and gets better, they remain fixed in place.

As time goes on, there should always be signs of change and growth. When you go to an old neighborhood, you need to see new homes and new shops, you need to see signs that something good has been done. If it looks exactly how it did when you left it, then something is definitely wrong. The same happens when you meet old friends, you’ll definitely be happy when you learn that they’re doing okay and have made their way in life. It is not necessarily about having money or being a billionaire, it’s more about being in a better place than you were last year or the year before that.

This could be financially, emotionally, mentally, and health wise. There should always be room to grow, there should always be room to get better. Because if you’re stuck, being in one place thinking that you have it good, a time will come when your eyes will open and you’ll realize that while you were sleeping, others were moving! Hopefully, it won’t be too late by then.
