A Month To Perfection!!!
With an entire month and all resources provided, what skill am I certain that I would learn and master? This is a bit tricky because at the moment, I’ve got so many interests, to the point that it’s even the very thing that seems to be holding me back because I just can’t decide on what exactly to do. Starting one thing and moving on with it, but somewhere along the way, because of one thing or the other, I switch lanes and start something else.
And these things aren’t easy. Not in the least. But I make them all work. And for some of them, one month might not be enough to master a skill, and practice it enough to the point that I’m perfect at it. As a matter of fact, I don’t think anyone can perfect a skill within one month. There are not enough hours and days in the month to allow one enough practice for perfection.
However, I do agree that with one month and good resources, I can become good at any skill. One of such skill I would like to do better is public speaking. When I started public speaking, I didn’t ‘learn’ it as a course, it was a requirement for the job I was doing at the time. Which was Network Marketing for the Longrich Brand. I went from place to place speaking to organizations, most of whom were always strangers to me.
I learned this by watching my onboarder in action and I learned a lot. However, that method was always crude and it always seemed like guerilla methods. As I’ve grown older, seen more people, I’ve seen more sophisticated ways of public speaking. I’ve seen those using teleprompters without the audience even noticing it. Working with Powerpoints without having to always turn around and point at the screen. Just making it all one fluid motion, controlling my voice and pronunciations.
There is just so much that goes into public speaking and I really want to explore all that. However, I can’t really pursue all that at the moment. The courses are crazy expensive, especially the ones from renowned speakers. And if they’re physical classes, making it work would be a bit difficult considering my schedule. And that’s why after all this time, I’m still yet to take those classes. I rehearse from time to time, I make videos and give ‘talks’ to my mirror. But let’s be honest, how you speak in the presence of your mirror is very different from how you speak in the presence od dozens, hundreds, and thousands of people.
There are other skills I’d like to learn as well. There is mobile photography, which can be done with my phone. However, I’ve noticed that my smartphone’s camera has only dulled over the years and it has reduced the pace at which I take pictures these days. I’m planning to buy either an iphone or Samsung that will be dedicated mainly to taking good pictures.
Content creation is also something I’d love to learn more on. Yeah, I know I’m a content creator, but I just feel that I can do better and I can be better. There is just so much to learn, to know, and to do. That’s life, and the moment you stop learning, you stop growing.
So yeah, a month would be enough for me to learn and master these things. I’d be able to hold myself and do my things. And with every practice, I get a little better until I attain perfection. It will just be a matter of time.
Thank you for this.
Public speaking is not an easy skill to explore fully. It's not about knowing the rules. It's about the practicing. The same thing goes to mobile photography.
Yeah... but with a coach, and enough time for practicing, I'm sure more progress will be made within a month than without them.
