WOLFs (2024) - Action & Fun!

I have not seen movies in a while, but when I have free time, I like to. I came across this movie through a review by @katerinaramm and what immediately caught my attention is that it starred two well-known Hollywood stars, and it was a recent movie.

Written and directed by Jon Watts, WOLFs is an American action comedy movie about two professional fixers who are forced to work together without the other knowing about their existence until then. It stars Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Austin Abrams, Amy Ryan and Poorna Jagannathan among others.

The movie starts with District Attorney Margaret, played by Amy Ryan, who is caught up in what could be her first murder at a hotel. However, she just happens to know a person who knows a guy that can fix things. The guy who fixes is Jack, played by George Clooney and he likes to work alone.

Then we have the stunning entry of Nick, played by Brad Pitt, and Nick, is also a professional fixer hired by the owner of the hotel who just happened to have spy cameras. This hotel owner trusts Nick while the woman in question – Margaret – trusts and feels safe with her option, Jack. So, as a compromise, these two must work together even if they would rather not.

The whole movie itself was great. I loved the lines and the actors were nothing short of wonderful. Call me bias and yes, I am old school and have a thing for classic men. I also feel it was well paced, from the lines to the action scenes. There were also twists that I did not see coming and it was all absolutely worth it. Watching these two characters bicker and finally reach an agreement was satisfying. There was also the great delivery of dry humour, which I found very pleasing.

The only one problem I had was at the scene during the Croatian party and dancers sweep up these two professionals. I have no idea how two men can be forced to dance. Maybe they did not fight to get out because that would draw attention, but I feel the people at the party did not matter, and what mattered was fleeing the eye of the “violent man”. So maybe that scene was added for the tension and the spice, which is part of the storyline, and it delivered.

As I said above, I am old school. George and Brad had that chemistry that just kept everything alive. There was no dull moment as I was immersed in this plot that just kept on developing and birthing nice twists. In conclusion, I would give it 7 out of 10. I also recommend. It is a good watch and has what I will call, a satisfying end.

Yeah!

I am so happy that you enjoyed it, I agree with all the points you raised (I think it was an Albanian dance and not a Croatian)

We also have dances where the dancers hold each other and it is not easy for someone to break the chain.

If you have any similar movie to suggest, let me know! I have had a hard time finding a good movie lately.

Thanks again!

Oh yeah. I got it mixed up lol. It was Albanian. Yeah I was just pointing towards the time they were being pushed towards the floor, I feel they could have still made an exit and not be led to the dance. But you’re right too. Some dances are kind of aggressive 😂

Figure out they added the Croatian dancers to take away some of the steam. Brilliant movie, nonetheless.
Well written. Lovely to have you around!
