Three Tunes Tuesday - Kate Bush.

Hey there!

It is TTT today and I had been caught a bit in the 80’s and by one woman especially. Anyway, you know how we roll it here in TTT (Three Tunes Tuesday). I will be sharing three of these songs and of course, as per my modus operandi, I will say something about them - oh well, mostly what I think about them.

I work with music and I have moods for every song I listen to. Sometimes, I want the past and sometimes I want the present. Lookie here, I will be sharing three of my favourite Kate Bush songs or rather the three that have been on repeat.

Kate Bush is a British singer and songwriter well-known for her creative music style and passionate performances. She made her debut with Wuthering Heights in 1978, dominating the UK charts for four weeks at number one.

Kate Bush - Army Dreamers

I nearly skipped on this one until I heard the lyrics. I don’t really listen to folk music, or one as traditional as this or maybe I just haven’t tried to but this one stuck. All about war and the waste of lives. Specifically on a grieving mother.

The more I listened, the more I wanted to and in the end it played for quite a while. I have to say that this is quite a gripping song with hooklines that provoke images if you don’t get to see the video first. Even if you do, you might still find your brain conjuring stuff for you.

Kate Bush - Babooshka

Okay this one was giving modern vibes. Quite the story honestly especially now that we are in these times with stories of spouses testing their partners with the latest technology as a medium. I just listened to this for the words honestly. It sounded somewhat melancholic. Of course despite the colourful words, this is a heartbreaking song of a broken marriage and longing spouses.

Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)

This is my absolute favourite. I discovered Kate Bush thanks to this song. I first heard it in the TV series ‘Stranger Things’. I’ve been hooked on it since and it's part of my workout songs. Especially for cardio. This song broke the Guiness Records by climbing the number one spot on the charts after nearly 37 years!

These are three songs I have been listening to for sometime now. I wonder if you could recommend some of your Kate Bush favourites. I’m still sifting through some of her songs. Shoutout to @ablaze who keeps this all going!

That Running Up That Hill is a BANGER!

Probably the only song of hers that I recognize, but gotta love it. It hits extra hard during a good cardio session...
