First Bro Bang TEST SEASON started
The first season also started on 01.01.2024 00:00:00 UTC. Season in short: a season always lasts several months and therefore includes several events. If you earn points in events, these will also be used for the season rankings. I will change the scoring system for a season. Instead of using the points earned there as well, I will probably award points for winning an event.Either way, it's always worthwhile for you to take part in weekly events in order to take home even higher winnings in the season. An info article will follow soon if required.
Adaptation of the rules, beginning with this event
Payout of winnings from 20 points earned. I think 20 points is a reasonable threshold that everyone should reach after maximum 3 games. But I simply have to communicate such a threshold. Yes, I'm also thinking about displaying rules next to or in the game... will come. I will adjust the prize display on the websites within the week.Changings & Info for next/this week event
Bugs
For the last 2 weeks I have been working on fixing a bug that caused a new pin to not spawn at some point. This bug is now fixed. If you discover any apparent misbehavior of the game, I am always happy to hear from you.
Extensions of the game
The game has received extensive enhancements over the last 2 weeks in terms of weapons and game modes. Unfortunately, I was not able to complete the update in time for the start of the new event. Now I have 2 options: or now
Option 1:
Wait again until the next event change and make you "suffer" with the current bugs. Stupid, because then you'll continue to play what you've known for weeks. Could get boring...
Option 2:
Push up the new update during the event and reset the rankings at that time. This will be my choice. For all those who might lose a good ranking now: sorry. In regular operation I would not change the gameplay during an event, but during the official testing phase of the game this should be acceptable in order not to slow down the progress and completion of the game. Therefore: I will upload a new version of the game within the next few hours and reset the rankings. I have to do the reset because the difficulty of the game has changed a lot with the update. Some things are now easier, others harder. I may write an article about this later.
New extensions
The upcoming update is somewhat more comprehensive in terms of functionality. I can well imagine that not all "weapons" with their "special abilities" are perfectly set up yet. Also, the new functions require further explanations, which I have to explain in-game; which has not yet been done extensively. And even if some FX are not yet integrated... So you have a lot of room to discover! So now in concrete terms:
What's next?
I'm now going back to the editor and will take care of all the things that are still open in the new update. From the big things to the little things. When I think the basic things are basically right, I'll release the update (v 0.7.0). As I said above, I will see this within the next 24 hours. Consequently, I then gradually polish and successively push small updates (v 0.7.1 etc.).Bored enough with text. You play on & I have to work on some stuff.

BTW, on my highest score, the game started flashing that my ranking was a risk. so I killed myself on purpose have others seen this? Would it fail to record a higher score if I ignored it and kept playing?

This mechanism works like this: there is a "secret" ratio between time you play and hits you have to do. If you fall X % under this value, you get this warning "Ranking at risk" - but game in this state is still saved. Just play a little faster, climb over that value and all cool.
Actually these values are fixed in the code. I assume I will calculate and adapt these value dynamic on basis of the played games so far, later.
There is a second warning like "No Ranking" when your ratio gets less and less. When you are in this state, your game isn't valid for ranking.
From my own experience you can fight up, away from both warnings and into a good ratio. Because of the update there will be some "interruptions" during your game play which needs time for you to handle. If the machine should fall unter this value during that, don't mind it, just hit up again.
In a strategic way, you did the right. End it before it doesn't get ranked. Now you know more details for the next time. I will explain this in the rule book, as soon as this should exist.
OK, this makes sense. I would just say that it happened in the middle of a streak of something like 45 bros to 10 bangs and there wasn't much I could do other than lose. I bet I will develop a "feel" for when the ratio and luck are against me and just start over. Thanks for your reply!

It's the issue with files not loading games and apps that require WebL OpenGL drivers, in BroBang's case WebGL 2.0 is required in my browser, although it is present and working when tested on WebGL official website, but it does not recognize other apps.
