I think you might be onto something, the problem is they have moved too far to the other extreme now. Parents are too oblivious or self absorbed and kids are declining because of it.

Yeah, it's really wild how pretty much everything is a pendulum swinging! It swings really far in one direction, makes one thing horrible but some others great. Then it goes in the other direction and does the same thing there.
Eventually it does spend time in the middle, where it's balanced!
Yeah I for sure think that parents are far too absorbed in their shit, mainly technology. I don't do some things right, but one of the most important things I do is be PRESENT with my son. I am only on technology when he's sleeping or not around, unless we are looking something up like a fishing spot or something. It's crazy not to give the kids the attention they need.
Hopefully it happens soon because working in education, I can tell you things are crazy right now. My wife got beat up last week by a student and this isn't the first time that has happened.
Shit that sucks man! Is she in special-ed or general ed? I only ask because we have a tutor for my son who used to do special-ed and is amazing, but she used to get assaulted by the kids in that cohort which is horrible..
General Ed, but the special ed social worker is hardly ever there, so she usually has to handle those kids.
