The Brink of Elimination

This is going to be a short post for me today, but I wanted to spare you from having to read a super long post on Monday covering three days of the Little League World Series versus two days of the event. The bracket continues to take shape as four more games were played yesterday and four more games get played today. The loser portion of the bracket is also filling in as well.

Yesterday Japan slammed Europe/Africa 12 to 0 to move along in the bracket and Asia/Pacific beat Mexico 3 to 0 to keep their hopes alive in the top part of the bracket. Meanwhile, Midwest beat the Mid-Atlantic 2 to 0, and the Southeast hammered New England 13 to 0. That's honestly a lot more shut outs than I would have expected at this level of play.

Today we have Canada facing Latin America and Panama facing the Caribbean on the International side of the bracket. On the US side we have Metro facing the West, and Northwest going head to head with the Mountain division.

Tomorrow we start the elimination games in the lower part of the bracket. As teams start to fall out of the running things will get even more exciting.

I'm really looking forward to seeing where this all ends up. At this point I wouldn't even dare to take a guess.

Obviously a big difference in class and the top teams will be obvious after one or two games.
