Honolulu Blue Skies

Well, if nothing else, the Packers have proven that they can win at home. With the week 1 trouncing of the Detroit Lions and their 27 to 18 win over Washington in Green Bay last night, it seems a pretty good thing to be a Packers fan. I know there are fans of all teams all over the country, but Michigan is a bit unique in the fact that our upper peninsula doesn't actually touch the rest of Michigan. However, it does touch Wisconsin, so what you see is a lot of Packers fans in the great north of Michigan.
Traitors...
That's okay, one day, some day, our time will come for the troll Lion fans under the bridge in the lower peninsula of the mitten state! I want to say I am a bit worried about this weekend, but after reading some of the latest posts from @hanshotfirst, I am not too worried about the Chicago Bears coming into Ford Field for the Lions home opener.
Before we get to that though, let's talk about some of the other games in the league that are happening this weekend.
There are a lot of 0-1 matchups, but I am not going to talk about those except for the Lions game. It's hard because everyone has their favorite team, and what might not seem like an important game to me is very important to them. That being said, it's still too early to have a good idea of which teams are going to be the ones to watch this year, so I am going to just cover the 1-0 teams that are facing off.
The first one comes via Jacksonville and Cincinnati, which honestly, probably isn't that big of a game (unless you live in Ohio). That one is happening at 1:00 PM on Sunday and it might be worth tuning into. The next game with two undefeated teams is Denver vs. Indy. That could be a decent game though I don't really know too much about either of the teams right now. In fact, I probably couldn't even name the quarterback of either team.
Finally, on Monday night we have a big showdown between The Chargers and the Raiders.
I'll probably watch some of the other games this weekend, but my main focus is going to be on Detroit and their home opener. Given this game is in front of the home crowd, I hope they bring a bit more to it than they did last weekend in Green Bay. They have a lot of people counting on them after the past two seasons and I'm not kidding when I say there could be riots if they drop this game.
After decades of "meh", the hopes are high in Detroit and dashing those is a path that I don't think anyone wants to take.
Someone mentioned the other day they wondered how long it would be before the Lions skepticism crept to the top. The fact is, we know better. It is always there, we just have gotten used to shoving it down the last two years. We know at any given moment the other shoe will drop and we could be back at the bottom of the pile.
It's not that we want to be that way, it's just life....

How bout a bet of 5 push-ups on the game. Obviously I'm taking my boys. Video proof of push-up. You my Huckleberry?
5 push ups I can actually do!
So we have a bet then?
Sure, Lions win you do 5, Bears win I do 5?
