Chasing The Light On A Fall Morning

You know those mornings when you get out of bed, and it feels like the day is just buzzing with possibilities? This was one of those days. It wasn't just another routine; it had that crisp fall air and a sun hanging low in the sky, casting shadows that seemed to stretch on forever. I grabbed my DJI Mini 3 Pro, ready to capture the stunning scenery around me.

As the sun began to rise, it was like it was taking its time, slowly waking up to greet the day. I launched near the canal, and from above, the world looked so different. The water shimmered like smooth glass, reflecting the sunlight perfectly. The tree shadows lining the canal reached out long and graceful, creating a magical golden-hour effect.

From above, the farm fields appeared as a beautiful patchwork quilt, neatly divided by roads and waterways. The light hitting those vibrant green and golden fields was something else, almost like reality had been photoshopped. The way the fields aligned with the winding roads felt like one of those moments where you just have to pause and appreciate the beauty of the world. The long shadows only intensified that cinematic feel.

Then, I flew over the sluis. It was fascinating to see how the bridge divided the canal, the water flowing gently beneath it. What seemed like a simple structure from below took on an artistic quality from the air. The shadows draped over the water made the scene feel serene, almost like the canal was being tucked in for a peaceful nap.

And that barge! From ground level, it’s just a boat going about its business. But from the sky, it transformed into this industrial marvel, gliding through nature's landscape. The way the sun highlighted its red and blue hues, with the canal reflecting everything around it, was truly breathtaking—like witnessing a moving piece of art.

Touching down after the flight, I felt like I had experienced the world anew. This morning served as a reminder of why I love doing this—why it's important for all of us to shift our perspective, both in life and in our views.

We often get caught up in our daily routines, focused on the grind. But sometimes, you need to rise above it all, take in the bigger picture, and really see the shadows, as they remind us of the light.
