NINE OLD CLUMSY PHOTOSHOP EDITS FROM 2008
I didn't have much experience in Photoshop back then in 2008. But I had plenty of fun learning through errors and experimenting with all kinds of options without a clear, or even vague result in mind.
In today's post, I'll show you nine old photographs, enhanced or ruined - who knows, while playing in Photoshop. The bushcricket shown in this opening picture looked pretty good in the original photograph. The colors and the light & its direction were great - too bad that the area of interest ended up being blurred beyond repair. That's why I applied some rough artsy effects to the image. I was very satisfied with the result ... for a day or two ... then I realized that the thing isn't that great. It has some rough, clumsy charm, though.
Here you can see what I achieved on the 31st of December 2007, after working, probably for hours, to enhance a generic, boring photograph taken in a pine grove somewhere near the sea. If you think that the final result isn't too bad - who am I to disagree? Since the picture isn't trying to appear realistic, I actually still like it.
Here you can see some rough effects applied to the tender flowers of the wild onion.
In the case of this photograph, similar effects were applied to a fairly small, cup-like wildflower.
To get this creation, I deformed a piece of the coastal scenery. The rocks by the sea became some kind of sculpture or a petrified creature.
Here you can see another bushcricket. In three, slightly different versions this time.
This ladybeetle project was pretty successful. Relatively clean and simple.
Here you can see one ordinary macro photograph, for a change. It's a bushcricket portrait.
This last edit was created a couple of minutes ago from one of those old shots from 2008. The photograph was taken in the middle of a sunny winter day, but with a very simple, elegant intervention, I turned it into something that looks like a night shot that implies a beautiful, atmospheric moonlight.
If you count all the edits, they are probably a few more than nine, but everything was done with only nine old photographs, so the title isn't that wrong after all.
AND THAT'S IT. HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS CLUMSY OLD STUFF. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS, THE EDITS, AND ALL THAT VISUAL STUFF, ARE MY WORK - THE END.
Photoshop is such a powerful tool, that I think it's possible to spend years using it and still find something new that gives interesting results.
This is how we all learn how to edit and manipulate photos, but most importantly having fun while doing it !LOL 🤣

Pretty cool effects.. liked the flowers and lady bug. The bushcricket kinda appears as if may be missing a part of its body?.. not sure. As a result, though, it disturbs me for that reason. You seem to know your way round software. Thanks for sharing.
My 1st thought was to put in 'Not bad for 2008' but actually, no - it is bad !LOLZ
But the bushcricket macro is awesome, still. 🧐 💪💪

These are really great effects on the pictures I must confess. It looks amazing
I can see the effects of old cameras here since it is an old picture
Nice one
And I must call you the picture man
I wonder how many pictures you will have in your gallery at the moment
I like the ladybug from my child hood, I do remember catching them and waiting for them to lighten up their body, it looks very beautiful
Always glad to see your old collection of amazing pictures. I myself am very fond of watching such things since my childhood and used to try hard to catch Amen during my childhood.

In other words, in 2008 you did what is called trial and error, it's something that scientists do, well, you could say that at that time you were already experimenting with photography, and now you have very good results, good for you.
I wish you a happy start to the week
The grasshopper looks very dashing and the color looks dazzling
Yes, I love to do that too with many programs since it's super fun when you can just fidget with tools and sometimes get a cool result! Like yours!
Thanks for sharing these really beautiful photos @borjan! My favorites are probably the two that go before the last one. 😄 I really enjoyed this post, have a nice day! 😀
Thank you. 🙂 Glad you like the post. Have a great Thursday.
To you too! :D
This is very interesting, as we all start learning sometimes by ourselves trying and making mistakes, it's normal my friend, but the edits are really interesting.
