MY QUIET SUNDAY AFTERNOON
I spent most of the day at home and most of the afternoon in my backyard.
Some friends, young and old - big and small, came to visit me so they also became part of today's post.
In this wide shot, you can take a look at the, more or less, entire setting. I was there mostly to catch some spiders and insects for a series of posts I plan to publish in the near future. The working title is "Summer In My Garden" and then each episode will have an additional title that suggests what the post is about. Today I'll show you only one of those photographs made for the "Summer In My Garden" project because this is a generic post with some generic thoughts about the quiet afternoon and the overall experience.
Here you can see a jumping spider with its prey, the winged ant queen. The scene was found and photographed on the underside of the large leaf of the fig tree. I spent almost an hour in a very uncomfortable pose to get this and many other pictures that will appear in one of the future, much more focused posts.
This watering can has a certain visual appeal, so I decided to photograph it specifically for today's post. In the following photograph ...
... I zoomed out a bit to show you the small shed that hosts some tools and other gardening-related stuff.
You can take a look at the shed's interior in this shot.
A branch of the blackberry shrub is growing horizontally across the floor. Here you can take a look at a fairly small detail, while in the following photograph ...
... you can see a bit more of that plant.
Here you can see the thorny branch of the blackberry shrub and the electric cable in a slightly different composition.
Here you can see the cherry tomatoes and some other stuff in the garden.
This lovely blue fruit has fallen from the fig tree on whose foliage I photographed the jumping spider shown earlier in the post. While I was photographing the small arachnid ...
... cat called Miaukula was lying on the lawn not far from me and supervised the process.
The entire day was warm & sunny and everything felt happy in a nice, quiet way.
Here you can see one of the wildflowers that grow on my lawn. It belongs to the Malva sylvestris plant.
The fluffy seeds shown in this and the following photograph ...
... belong to the Erigeron bonariensis plant.
Here you can see the old, rusty wheelbarrow lying overturned under one of my fig trees.
One ripe fruit has fallen on the wheel.
And that's it. This weekend experience ends here.
As the day goes by, man spends more time in his garden area and the way we see this baby is very beautiful and all these insects are looking very beautiful.
I was interested in that place, there were lots of fruit and flowers which were quite beautiful for us to see when we were at that location. @borjan
You always captures beautiful pictures. Even clutters become beautiful in your captures.
Very beautiful and pretty photos as usual. Really inspirational and you captured everything that is even more common but in a particular manner.
I also sometimes see the spider on its prey. It is a very beautiful scene. You have done some beautiful wildflower photography that looks great.
You really have excellent skills in photography.
The spider looks very fierce when it has prey
It must have really been a stressful day for you
It looks like an idyll within the boundaries of a wonderful vegetable garden, where many creatures live that the child will get to know :)

I love blackberries.. that's so cool that you grow your own! I wonder if it also grows in Cape Town?.. hmm, you've given me something to think about. Does it make a mess?
As a child I remember a Mulberries growing in from neighbours side over the wall.. wow - it was a really hectic mess haha. It was quite a big tree, though.
Keep well my friend and thanks for the post.
😃 Yes, a child can easily make a mess with those berries. Especially with Mulberries. And a Mulberry tree can produce so many of those sweet fruits. Here where I live, there is one big old tree in the garden of one of the old houses in the historic center of town. Half of the branches are above the yard of that house and the other half above the street. The asphalt under the tree is covered with a layer of trampled mulberries during the summer.
Yeah.. that sums up my childhood memories on that topic rather well haha. It was the best place to find silkworms though. That's another awesome lifeform which we are so blessed to have with us. Very cool. Haven't seen one in years though.. actually decades now. Such clever creatures. Watched a cool segment on the news not too long ago, how a lady built a sustainable business with them, allowing them to eventually hatch into moths (apparently that isn't the norm, which is so sad).
That's lovely
You really had a quiet working hours at your garden
All the pictures was so aqurate.

Some funny photo shots Today! I have never thought of mounting a watering can" on a shed roof before !LOL
Having thorny branches on the floor would probably stick in my feet, as I'm not usually very observant to hazards 🤣
Anyway, awesome Nature views, well done! 👏

I looked at the photos, I looked at your visitors, the little one looks restless, but not in the sense of being annoying, yes in relation to the fact that he seems to analyze what he sees and that is good, now I look at the cat is black, some people have omens about This color in cats, they say it is bad luck, my question when I hear this: So what do we do? We paint it, we add something to it that changes its color, it bothers me when they say so much nonsense, it's black and it's just a cat.
I wish you a happy start to the week
La araña 🕷️ está muy mágica está linda me encanta ese insecto.
El cobertizo con los materiales de jardín súper me facina.
La planta 🏵️ con semillas esponjosas super genial .
What a cute boy <3 I really like those cherry tomatoes, they look shiny and beautiful. Black cat looks angry and active.
