Haven't you thought that this is like gambling? Just like gambling, you lose your freedom, and just like gambling, even though you think you control some events, you don't really control anything.
It's an interesting perspective. I'm not into gambling so I haven't thought about that.
Now when I think about some friends who are prone to gambling, they always have some bizarre, convoluted calculations and theories about chances and numbers, crazy stuff that didn't bring them anywhere so far, but yeah, it can sound like they have some kind of control at moments.

I also meant that it's kind of addictive and also frustrating just like gambling. And while we think we know what we're doing and what we're going to get out of putting in this much effort, this much time, and this much quality, we're not really masters of the outcome of these things. Nor can we influence them in any way.

Ahaaa 😃 Now you explained the concept perfectly. Yes, I absolutely agree. Is much more frustrating than classic gambling, actually, becouse one puts real effort into a silly game. It's very anti-educational. It teaches or even worse, it conditions people to some stupid, non-creative rituals in the hope of getting a sugar cube ... and then, if it wasn't ugly enough, it confuses them along the way. That's what's prevailing. It's not all like that, not yet, but it looks that soon it will be.
Most of the people I respected have gone for good or aren't active, and those who sound like shallow dystopian puppets or something, are omnipresent and are getting rewarded ad nauseam.
Probably it was always more or less like that but I haven't noticed. However, once you see it you can't unsee it, so for me, the days of fun here are definitely over.
😀 I mean, I'm still having a bit of fun ranting and spitting venom around, but I'll always miss the simple, pastoral fun of the times when I believed in crypto fairies, decentralized castles in the clouds, blockchain Santa Claus, and all that stuff.
Well, you were even privileged, if I may say so. I never got to the point of believing anything here. Yes, the things shown here are anti-educational, very disappointing. They somewhat copy the real world in their development. Somehow a good idea always rots because of the people involved in it. This is something that is inevitable.
I am also very sad for the people who are gone. I think I even envy them, because they realized in time what was happening and found something more valuable to occupy themselves with. That's always my first thought when I see an account has stopped posting.

Yeah, Hive is really a fun place to be, I have barely spent a full year here and I am learning how to love it already. It's just a matter of understanding the rules and sticking to them.
