BEAUTY AND CALM BETWEEN THE SEA AND THE GREAT WINTER SKY
The coastline is deserted and quiet these days. It's quite beautiful.

The sky can occasionally be very dramatic in summer, but for the most part, the sky is uniformly clear and blue, which is also beautiful but can't stand the comparison with what the winter clouds bring to the picture.

In January 2006 things weren't any different than today. Well, mostly, not completely. My dog Pepi, for example, isn't alive anymore. He looked great in the black-and-white versions of the coastal scenery.

Here you can take a look at the dense, dark forest near the sea.

The trees aren't thick or tall but some of the trunks are beautifully twisted.
The blue flowers of the wild chicory look great in the gloomy winter atmosphere.

This photograph shows a stretch of coastline with flat rocks that serve as sunbathing platforms for colonies of tourists and locals in summer. The summer scenes resemble what I saw in documentaries about sea lions and penguins.

In this shot, Pepi is small and well-camouflaged on the pale rocks. I'm sure you'll find him if you enlarge the picture by clicking on it and take the time to explore all the details that the photograph offers.
Here you can see Pancho climbing another rock in the same area. Pepi and Pancho were brothers and my best friends in those days.

Here you can see the tall reed grass that grows in the inlets sheltered from the strongest winds.

But the memory of Pepi will always be with you although he is not here anymore with you, especially with the photo that you took of him.

What a great adventure to share with Pepi and Pancho.
Those trees make the forest look spooky with the shadows like something out of a fantasy novel! I think I might also like to be one of those sea lions on the tanning rocks!

Which breed?
I don't know. Mixed breed. I found them in the woods. Someone left them as puppies.

Could be half wolf 🐺
🙂 The white one maybe had something of the Golden Retriever.
. The brown had some similarities to breeds called Leonberger and Sharr Dog... they were both big, heavy dogs ... and probably a mixture of breeds

Such winter beauty ... including those lovely dogs.
In the first photo, I just love the calm skies and how they are reflected on the calm waters.
The trees in the dense forest are really so beautifully twisted and so knit together, kindred supporting one another.
The little white flower is a beauty, I can see small Pepi sunbathing on the rocks over there and Pancho doing the same on a very cloudy day.
Looking at the reeds, you will know it was a very windy day.
Your dogs were your companion back then, what of now?
The weather is calm, and then stormy, it's interesting to be able to watch this unpredictability.
The forest is so dense and yet so green, I'm wondering how the twisted trees are all able to get required amount of Sunshine.
Your dogs Pepi and Pancho were so cute, I know you miss them sometimes.
Nature is really beautiful, the beautiful river, the trees everything brings calmness and peace. I would really love to be in this surrounding. I hope you had a great time here.
