❄️ Treated to A Frozen Waterfall ❄️

My family and I took another family walk, to a waterfall this time 🀩 February is already proving to be a harshly unforgiving month, with heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures! But, this equation can be the perfect formula for some absolutely breaktaking scenery πŸ₯°

Our journey began downtown, where we had to catch a bus to get to our destination. I love going downtown for this reason alone: this towering glass building 🏒 My mother works in this building, and it is incredible for capturing some bright sun photography through the archway.

While waiting for the bus, our girls kept themselves preoccupied πŸ˜„ Our oldest daughter played in the snow, while our youngest watched all the cars driving by. She cowered in fear at the approaching firetruck! πŸ˜‚

The trail to the waterfall started with an immediate uphill trek. With the slippery snow, it made the trek even more tumultuous 😩 However, any hiker knows that a climb uphill will often yield wonderful rewards. We had a lovely view from up top, but unfortunately there was too much shrubbery to get a good shot.

From even higher up above us, we could hear the rumbles of an approaching train. We hid in the underpass directly below it, watching the falling snow tumble down amidst the vibrations.

Just beyond that, we witnessed our first ice climber! πŸ˜ƒ Ice climbing is a pretty popular activity during the winter. People show up with their cleats and ice picks, and begin to climb up the frozen waterfalls. I've never tried it myself and have no interest to, but it's always fun watching others give it a go!

We finally made it to the waterfall! πŸŒŠβ„οΈ And what a sight to behold! From where we were standing, it was probably about 40 feet tall! 😱 Of course, the most astounding part was the fact that the three other ice climbers were challenging this waterfall! Our little girls really enjoyed watching them climb.

I tried getting a closeup of the beautiful ice crystals, and even this doesn't do it justice. This is one of those sights that truly made me stop and appreciate the beauty of God's work! πŸ™

From down below! 😱 I love capturing photos from this angle. There is something about the towering trees against the bright blue sky that makes me feel so insignificant, witnessing creation from the depths below...

Our beautiful girls! 😍 They both had a wonderful time. In all honesty, my husband and I were extremely impressed! How many other people can say their 2 and 4-year-old kids have the capability to hike all the way up to a waterfall?! πŸ₯°

In order to get back down to the bottom of the mountain, we simply slid down on our butts! πŸ˜‚ Here was my husband with the girls, right before they began the descent down!

I saw this sticker stamped onto a street light on the way home and thought it was adorable πŸ˜„ With perhaps the most ironic part being that it WAS, in fact, a "Caturday"/Saturday!

I saw this graffiti as well. I know that it is most likely in reference to a Magic 8 Ball (you know, you ask it a question, shake it, turn it over and it will tell you the "answer"? πŸ₯΄) But, for whatever reason, all I could see was Blink-182!

All in all, it was a pretty great day! πŸ™β€οΈ It was great to be out in nature after a very long break, and to appreciate the work of our Creator. The girls did a wonderful job as well, and I could not be more proud of them! A 10,000 step journey and they didn't even break a sweat -- most ADULTS can't even do that! πŸ™

Thank you for checking out today's post! πŸ˜ƒ I truly appreciate the interactions, thank you so much πŸ™ I pray that everyone will enjoy a lovely week ahead!

Ah this is the best!! I was thinking, even before you said it, that it was an impressive walk for little legs! Your girls are gorgeous. I can really feel those amazing 'memory' vibes - it's a day you can't possibly forget. I really love the frozen waterfall and to be honest feel a little jealous that I can't walk to see it. We don't get snow like that here at all. So very cool!

Thank you for your comment πŸ™β€οΈ yes, we are extremely proud of our girls! It was a big hike, and neither of them were tired -- just hungry πŸ˜„

I can understand where you're coming from, I am grateful to live in a place that experiences the snow! Sometimes the cold gets debilitating, but thankfully it isn't forever πŸ™
