God Does NOT Condone Abortion (Part 2)

(Source: https://www.4029tv.com/article/activist-group-puts-banner-on-christ-of-the-ozarks/36985336)

I already did a HUGE post on how God does not condone abortion and debated the topic of child sacrifice. Today I am going to debunk popular Bible passages that non-believers use to justify abortion anyway! 😅

"If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot." (Exodus 21:22-24)

This is a great one -- people use this passage to show that the baby is treated like property. So, let's debunk it LOL.

For starters, regardless of which translation you read, the baby is never described as "property." Property, again, is merely someone's opinion. Rather, we see the words fruit, premature birth, miscarriage, child/unborn child... In fact, in some translations (like the Amplified Bible), "no further mischief" is often interpreted as "the child is born prematurely but did not die."

"... so that she gives birth prematurely [and the baby lives], yet there is no further injury..."

So if the baby does NOT die, a fine is merely imposed. For whatever reason, people interpret the fine as "damaged property," despite the fact the baby is described as a child LOL. ...AND the fact that this practice is STILL in use today. Many people sue for unlawful deaths, when the blame cannot solely be pinned on a perpetrator. According to this crowd's logic, however, then the victim was merely property, not life.

However, if serious injury or death DOES result, God goes on to say, "if the woman herself sustains injury -- eye for an eye." If we are to view this as two forms of justice, this insinuates that there are obviously two separate lives taken into account. God obviously does not view a fetus as, "well, it's dependent on her to live, so I guess it isn't REALLY life 🤷‍♂️"

Or, how about THIS passage...

"If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: when she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse." (Numbers 5:27)

Here, we get to observe a woman's choice -- in this case, the decision to be unfaithful to her husband. Therefore, God devised a test to see how truthful she was (remember -- there was no DNA testing back then, and the husband would raise a bastard child without even realizing it. Whatta terrible sin on behalf of the woman! 😔)

The wife agrees to drink the bitter water, ("Then the woman is to say, 'Amen. So be it."), knowing the consequences of what will come of it -- of her behavior -- and if she is proven unfaithful, she is cursed. The curse is a barren womb for the rest of her life. Therefore, if she happens to be pregnant, she will miscarry -- a consequence for a barren womb. The woman agrees to all of it.

Considering that women already consent to abortion, I don't really know what more needs to be said 😅 Is it unfortunate that the barren womb results in a miscarriage if she is pregnant? absolutely. But unfortunately, the consequence of an adulterous woman is a barren womb, and I personally would also like to ensure that succubus cannot continue their reign of terror.

Thank you for checking out this week's post! 😃🙏 I have been dwelling on the topic a lot: I truly do believe God's purpose for me is to continue to fight abortion. As much as I despise getting into online debates, it is through these debates that I am able to see where the opposing crowd is coming from, making it much easier to debunk their arguments. In the meantime, I pray that God continues to bless me with HIS knowledge, and that I continue to interpret the Bible the way HE meant it to be interpreted 🙏🙏

It's a fight that will be met with hostility and anger. But it's one that I think is of heaven. Being a dude, we are told to basically shut our mouths when it comes to this topic. So I'm grateful that women are speaking up.

I support your position 100%. Every life is precious.

Yes, as women, we need to be the ones to speak up on this matter more. I was once a feminist, and a large portion of the movement -- including myself -- will not listen to men because they already despise them. All the more reason why it needs to come from women, with experience living in the female body 🙏

Thank you for your comment, and please enjoy the rest of your week!

I am so blessed with my two sons.
I've had friends that were jailed just for peacefully praying to God from across the street from an abortion clinic respecting a liberal court's ridiculously ordered exclusion zone, because their presence was intimidating and threatening to the patients using the clinic.

Thank you for speaking the truth @borderline.babe

Prayer should never be seen as an attack when done for the RIGHT reasons. I try my best to be good with my intentions: I pray for the mother, that she may see reason someday, and that I leave the burden of judgments with God 🙏✝️

Thank you for your comment, and I'm glad that we can agree on this. It is an issue very near and dear to my heart!
