Finding Some Old Pop Manga Colorings

While completing some artwork in my pop manga coloring book, I came across some of my older works.

I first purchased this coloring book back in 2019, at a Chapters book store. I was unfamiliar with pop manga at the time, but I have grown to love this type of style over the years 😍
Looking back on this book, it is crazy to think about how long I have been working in it. Back in 2019 I was in an abusive relationship, and was using artwork as a means to escape from my reality.

Today, I use this artwork as a means to express myself, as well as creating art for people that I love, such as my children 🥰

Anyway, let us know take a few moments to look at my artwork over the years! 😃

(And as always, I want to establish that I did NOT draw the artwork; ONLY colored. Again, all of these pages came from a pop manga mermaid coloring book 🧜‍♀️ Please enjoy!~)

(One of my personal favorites 👍 I love the way that this one turned out, however, if I could fix one thing, it would be the color gradient of the pufferfish)

(Another personal favorite -- I am absolutely in love with how this one turned out 💕 I love everything about it...)

(I really love how the navy blue turned out in this one)

(It never ceases to amaze me how wonderfully green and orange go together~ The texture in this one came through wonderfully as well! 🙏)

(This picture was obviously meant to take after an iconic character -- can you guess who? 😄)

(That's right -- she's The Little Mermaid~ https://www.elle.com/culture/movies-tv/a28250764/the-little-mermaid-live-action-details/)

(Another personal favorite, this one is really fun 😄 I love how the catfish turned out. The only thing I would change is coloring it in a bit more...)

(Another favorite, and another great example of how green and orange go beautifully together. I don't know why, but this picture always reminds me of a boy I used to pine over at the time...)

(These next two pictures I shared in my last post here, and they are my most recent works of art. I created this mermaid for a 4-year-old girl, Luna, who passed away due to brain cancer 🌙💜 She loves the color purple and blue, as well as her long, flowing hair...)

(This picture was done for a 7-month-old boy who passed away. He would have recently celebrated his 3rd birthday, so I tried to create a semblance of what he looks like today 💙🐳)

All in all, I am quite pleased with how my progress is going! 👍 I have never been an artistic person in this sense, I am more of a writer, but it has been great to notice details without having to FORCE myself to take them into account.

For example, shading. I never used to pay attention to shading; everything was just one flat tone. But now I bother to notice shading, color gradients, etc.

Anyway, if you took the time to check out this post, thank you so much! 🙏 Do you have a favorite picture so far? I plan on doing a lot more, so stay tuned~ 😄
