🌧️ April Showers Bring May Flowers 🌼

Another day, another outing...

The weather was a bit milder today. As opposed to a blistering, muggy 32 degrees Celsius day, we were gifted with a balmy overcast day of 18 degrees. We decided to get out for another family adventure.

Our oldest daughter has been growing up so fast, before our very eyes 🥺 She is becoming incredibly independent and inquisitive, wanting to explore everything and anything! Today she had matching outfits with Daddy, and she was very proud about that 😊

We came upon a field of buttercups; how sweet~ I've always loved this tiny flowers since I was a child -- perhaps even more so than dandelions!

(This is not a buttercup! 😅 But there were a few nestled throughout the trail here and there...)

Really cool tree that was noticed along the way, literally growing at a 90 degree angle out of the cliffside! The strength of trees is truly understated... Those roots are hanging on for dear life!

We also spotted this little guy, pausing to sit and enjoy his treat (I believe he had a tree nut of some kind 🌰). Squirrels are very common wildlife around these parts, but they tend to be black or grey. Red squirrels are definitely harder to find!

We came across more flora, some pretty little field flowers. They were growing in every hue under the rainbow! However these ones were my favorite: lovely lavender indigo...

Our youngest was very happy to check things out! 😃 (She tried eating these flowers immediately after this was taken)

No idea what this flora is called, but they grow in beautiful bunches of baby blue, white, and soft purple...

A photoshoot in the flowers with our oldest 😊

We came across a bridge overlooking a wonderful waterfall! Our youngest and I stopped for a photo.

We continued to follow the stream, which led us to another waterfall! 😱 Can't be too surprised though; one of our city's nicknames is the City of Waterfalls.

When all was said and done, the end of our journey led us to this! An old vintage car half submerged underwater! I love seeing stuff like this -- so many questions pop into my mind. First of all: how? 😅 Then things like what happened to make it end up like this? How long has it been here? Did it belong to a family, maybe a family with young children? Was anyone hurt?...

That will do it for this weekend's adventure! 👋 Thank you for reading, and please enjoy your week 🙏
